Returning to the hobby

Go to tower hobbies for everything you need. Futaba magnum "sport" radio on sale for only $45. Then an inexpensive novak or lrp esc for ~$60. Trinity P2K pro for $26. Go with the tc3 that includes the body and tires. The factory team is the best for sure, but no body ($20) or tires and wheels($30) come with the team kit. All the titanium and graphite is nice, but costly. Bang for your buck would be the 'sport' version. It will perform very, very well. Check out the new rcca mag. It has the factory team tc3 as the car of the year, and says that the sport will perform at 90% of the factory team edition. www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com) and look for ad numbers that give you money off for certian dollar amount orders. P.S. They make a ton of money on express shipping so just go with the regular freight for $6.99 and you will have it before you know it. It's amazing how much they stick it to you for next day and 2nd day shipping :mad: just be patient :D

I forgot. Duratrax piranha peak charger is ~$35 and not a bad charger for the money. Check your local hobby shop prices as well on this stuff, but thru tower you pay no sales tax ;) Don't skimp on batteries. 1500 milliamp sport packs are cheap, ~$10-15 each, but a good 2000 or higher is the way to go. They are ~$40 and up each, but one good 2000 is better than 3 1500's if you ask me. The 'team'tc3 comes with wheels and tires as well as some other goodies, the "factory team" has all the goodies but no wheels and tires.

I have been out of this hobby for about 10 years and am glad to be returning. I am a teacher in Winslow Twp., NJ and plan on set up a after school club for the kids. Any suggestions to help me out? It will probably be set up for a road coarse. I 'm thinking of buying the TC3 but I'm not sure about the set up. I'm really looking at a budget set up (bang for the buck)? Any suggestions on radio, speed control, motor, battery, charger, etc. ( the whole nine yards)? Are there any good sites to buy from? Any info. you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
PS When is the new Losi road car coming out? Should I wait? Should I spend a little more for the factory team TC3 as opposed to the plain TC3 with body?
