Hpi Rs4 MT, its durable, its fast, and 4wd!

I have had my RS4 EMT for about 4 months now. It is a well designed truck. It handles very well. I think the only problem with it is the rear body mount. There is only 1 rear body mounting post, and I have broken 2 bodies at that mounting post. Now I reinforce my bodies in that place by shoe-gooing a piece of metal cut from a food can lid to the underside of the body to give it strength.

I have had an HPI Rs4 MT for about 2 years. It has brought atleast 5 people into the hobby.What more could you ask.

Granted the Losi is the better truck, but I wouldnt go so far as to call the Rustler a Toy.

Its designed well, and is very durable.

Most important as an entry level truck its at a very good price. Name another vehicle that you can get an ESC, radio, engine & truck for $199?

I bought one for my wife as a bigginer RC and she loves it.

I'll stick with my Losi XXX-NT myself, but the Rustler is not bad.

UUUUUHHHHHHH, OK. Is this for what? here's mine....bashing (HPI) simi racing (HPI) and fairly compition-Pro racing (LOSI!).

Just keep in mind that there is no racing class for 4wd trucks. You might be able to run it in a monster truck class, but not regular truck classes.

If you're just gonna screw around, get the 4wd HPI. If you're going to race at all, get the XXXT.

It all is about what u want to do. the MT is a great truck I love mine but it is only good for fun stuff. U can only race it in open classes were it just a bunch of back yard basher racing one another on a track.
The rustler is a toy 2wd version of the mt but i still like my rustler too. same rules aply for it mostly.
The xxx is a race truck. u can still buy it for fun but its a lil pricy for a play truck. So its up to u.

I had an RS4 MT and I hated it. As a basher, it stinks since it's way too fragile. I broke it almost every time I ran it. As a race truck, it's actually pretty good. Thik of it as a fast, good handling Fabrege egg. If you buy it, get lots of arms and get the titanium hinge pins and tie rods.

I currently have a FT T3 and it's rock solid. I've wtecked in ways that would have made the MT cry like a school girl and it just keeps going and going.

Every one says the Rustlers a toy, but its actually a pretty good truck for a basher.

defintley the losi because they handle very well and they are light fast have good suspension and have great turning!

To me the best bang for the buck it the Rustler. It's not gonna break the bank, and it will give you the most right out of the box.

If you're gonna race, of course go with the XXX, but be prepared to dish out extra cash for radio and electronics.

The RS4 MT should handle better through the turns than either of the two other trucks, since it's 4WD. Great truck, but no class for it.

If it were me, starting off, go with the Rustler. You get the most for your money, and you can always upgrade it as your skills improve. Finally, if you have any problems, Traxxas has the best customer support in the biz, except for maybe a few small family-owned businesses.

well i think the xxx will win over the other trucks in racing no contest but then again the rustler when hopped up very nice can be VERY!!!!! competetive i know a dude that had a rustler he had 5x11 ball barrings all around he put in a steath tranny added some really nice tires and rims CVD's ect. ect. ect. and he won the A Main comin in 2nd over all i plan to do much of the same hop ups one my truck also the rustler is GREAT!!! for bashin i'v beatin mine really bad it even survived a pretty ugly car crash a speeding range rover hit it down the front end and only broke my wheel off and the skid plate crunched but if that wuz a xxx crunch!! i'v used it and its defenitly not my choice for a basher good luck and be===> :cool:

I've got a Rustler with a D4 - 13 turn motor, Novak Super Rooster esc, 2200 batt, Super bearings, Dirt Hawg tires, and new shocks. It's a "Super Rustler," I beat a couple Maxxes, a Kyosho Inferno MP6, and another rustler... Its a nice car when you can handle it.
