Receivers are fragile instruments. If they gat jarred heavily, they can be damaged. If you have crashed your truck hard, done big jumps, flipped it over, etc it is quite likely the receiver has been damaged and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Really? Then i must be lucky cuz i was racing my impulse and my receiver came out
and i drove the car into the pits dragging it behind my car. It works like the day i bought it.

or itsw could be that the gears are stripped but it doesnt sound like it.... open up the servos and have a look-see

No, don't buy a new servo yet. It sounds like you don't get throttle either. Find a friend with a similar radio and borrow some of his stuff to eliminate possibilities. First, try a different set of crystals. Second, try plugging your servo and ESC into his receiver. Third, try using his radio with your equipment. You should find the problem this way.

If you have throttle control, but no steering, then you probably did strip your servo gears like Car Head said. If that is the case, just buy new gears for it instead of a whole new servo.

Try running the car with the steering servo unplugged (on a car stand of course) and see if it works likt that. Your servo may be bound up and keeping everything else from working right. If that's the case do like Nairb said and just replace the gears, not the whole unit.

ahhh, ok nairb is correct but sometimes servos just dont work, it has happened plenty of times, especially on cheap servos. and what happens is that the servos gets stuck going one way and wont move, and it sounds like that MIGHT be your problem. and it happened to after i had a little problem with a cement wall...

if the front wheels move, then the esc is reciving power, so it is working. I would guess it is the crystal. That is what went on my traxxas tq radio. Since the wheels move i would quess that the esc is good (if you have BEC circutry)(no AA batteries for the reciver that is...) The reason that i think the esc is good is because power is going thru it, thru the reciver, and to the steering servo.
