Keeping file size down for posting pics

I have been trying to post pics of my stuff but cant get the file size small enough. Any tricks you could help me out with. I use a 7mega pix camera I can go to less if that need be. Any help would be great.

office xp and me shoud come with a program called microsoft picture manager. it can change the size of pictures

lower your resolution. i use photoshop elements 4.0 it has a section that says save for web. all you do is lower the percentage till the file is small enough. my 4.0mp i have to lower to around 22 to 25 % and it saves at 45 to 50 kb without shrinking the photo too much.

If you have Windows XP you can use Paint and 'Save as' JPG (if it's not already) and perhaps resize it somewhat...

If your picture workshop might have when you save as a best for web seletion one. I know kodak has one.
