Okay, here's the deal.... Tonight I am buying a car to set up to race with. Final chance to swing me one way or the other as I am fence-sitting between these... Anyone got reason for one over the others?

Flat out I believe the XXX KE is a better car, but if you like AE better go that route

If you choose the XXX you can e-mail me at racefreak5@home.com for any advice you could ever want for that car.

If ANYONE has questions about Loosi vehicles go ahead and e-mail me

Get the Losi.... I've driven all of them and these new Losi's just have a "locked in" feel to them. Really stable, and definitely not lacking in steering. They land from jumps like a wet towel, even if your landing is less than perfect (this was the first thing that amazed me when I drove a friends brand new XXX). I raced the Associated for 2 years and did OK with it, but I think the Losi just does a lot of things better. Let us know what you decide on and how it turns out......

You list of choices is great !
Buggies are THE cool class to race in. I honestly believe in the comment, "If you can be fast with a 2wd buggy, you can be fast with anything".
Electric trucks are just rubber baby buggy bumpers ! :p

Although it may not be the popular vote, seriously consider the B3. It has a proven record, needs no hop ups, is durable, and works for beginners and pros alike. If you care, you would also be supporting a company who I feel has been true to the hobby for a LONG time.
The XXX is a very new design (this can be good or bad) and the B3 is a prety old design.

No matter your decision, you won't be unhappy.

He does have a point, the FT B3 needs no hop-ups, but neither does the XXX KE, the B3 has proven itself, but the XXX has as well, and is newer technology. The B3 is durable, but so is the XXX, and XXX parts can be ordered from HORIZON, and they will get to you in three business days. AE has been around since 1976, and Losi has been here since 1987.

The B3 is a great car, but the XXX just seems to have it beat, for now.......

The B3 is great

And the results are....

Losi Triple-X KE
P2K Pro
Novak Rooster reversable ESC
Airtronics Blazer radio

$410 (includes IL sales tax)

I went with a cheaper radio to keep in my $400 range, but everyone at the track said this was a very good radio, especially for the price.

For now, just going to use the duramax 1500 batteries I have until I get use to the car and ready to race.

LosiFreak: That's the nicest I've ever seen you talk about an AE car. :D

Nice choices btw... That looks like a lotta bang for the buck. There's a couple KE's at my track. They seem to be real hooked up for our track right out of the box. If the two guys that run them could stay off the barriers a little more they'd smoke everybody. They kill through our washboarded sweeper, and land well from real out of shape jumps.

"everybody" loves the XXX KE....

well, i don't.... so i guess the guy above should have said "a lot of people love the XXX"...

i prefer the way the B-3 drives well over the XXX... (and yes, i have driven both many times)... in fact, if i were to buy a Losi, i would get the XX over the XXX... the XX isn't quite the complete package that the XXX is, but i prefer the handling of the XX over the XXX as well...

peace out... :)

I can't say much, I haven't driven the KE version of the XXX but my FT B3 runs VERY well compared to most of the Losi's I've seen where I race.

To get back up on my soapbox again ( :)) the kit probably isn't going to win you races, you will win them so get what you like and practice like crazy :)

Very cool! I'll have my buggy out there, hopefully someone decides to show up to race a buggy and not all this truck stuff :)

I'm planning on getting a FT T3 in the next couple weeks though.

You have any plans to go to the WC6 in Aiken next month?
