Hey guys.. I'm new to RC Nitro.. Actually I don't own an RC Nitro car now.. The reason I'm posting is because I want to get into it. Can anyone suggest a good starter nitro car? I want something that is good for offroad as I live in Az and there is plenty of desert here. Something not too expensive but something I can upgrade later. I would prefer to build it myself but a rtr car is ok as well.
Thanks in advance to all who reply..

The rc I started with is the Associated RC10GT RTR. It comes as an RTR and a kit. The RTR costs just under $300. The kit will be less than that, but you have to add an engine and radio. It is a very good stadium truck, and there are many hop up parts. Good luck & welcome.

If it does'nt have to be a kit. The XTM Manmouth ST is one awesome truck. Very fast, easy to tune and fun to drive. And it can be had for around $350.00. AN excellent buy. Also for bashing fun the Cen FUn Factor 2 is an excellent truck. I've driven them both and like them both, but If I was going racing I would get the Manmouth.
On a side note yes the RC10GT is an excellent buy and a great truck. So my feelings are anything here you can't go wrong. Just liook to see which vehicle your hobby shop stocks parts for. Good luck and most important have fun.

For ease of maintenance and a high fun factor, I also suggest the RC10GT. It's a lot of fun to bash as well as race. It's a rugged bugger and parts are usually readily available. There's a number of add-on's and hop-ups for it. But, it all comes down to Nomad1's advice...see which vehicle your hobby shop stocks parts for.
Jerry, good to see you on here and still putting out great info.

Wow guys.. Thanks for all the replies. I didn't expect to get so many. Thanks for all the excellent advice. I read up a bit on the RC10GT and it looks like the price is right also. How about the radio that it comes with? Is it decent? Will it work for a few months until I can upgrade if I need to?
Thanks again to all who replied!! :)

It comes with an AM radio that will get you by. I used mine for over a year until I bought the XS3.
