Well, now I see why some people complain about painting these bodies. Had a real hard time masking the rear area with the wings. Don't see how you guys do it. If anyone has some ideas for me let me know. Overall it looks good I guess. Just not happy with it.

for your 1st pan car, thats a good baseline. you'll only get better with it.

Yeah, i'm just so used to the larger bodies. I mostly paint touring cars and 8th scale buggies. And some times monster trucks and stadium trucks. Think my next one will be better. Plus the person I painted that one for wanted a simple scheme.

Thats cool lookin. Brighter is always better, espcially as fast as those 12th scales move out.

Pretty darn good for your first 1/12th... very Irish. You've even managed to get the grid up into the side dams -- I don't even bother, just mask the dams off with masking tape even before spraying the liquid mask.
The black fade line is a bit heavy though, if you're looking for a critique.

I like it... post another pic when you get it trimmed out and mounted.
And remember to put a few stickers on it so it'll look like a real race car. :D

SpamCake, yes the black came out a bit dark. Live and learn I guess.
NotWalkinBlind, I'll try to get the customer to send me some mounted pics.

blacktiger, next time you paint dont use straight back for the drop shadow, if you notice in real life there are very few times were straight black occurs, what i would reccomend is to mix the black with the color that is going under it, that way when you layer the shadow on you can build it and not have to worry about over doing it, mabey a half and half combo of color and black will work, or mabey even 3/4 color 1/4 black, fine tune it and see what works for you

I did that on the front there. If you look at some of my other paint jobs I usualy do. But for this the customer wanted a quick job so I rushed it and it shows. I really hate rushing my work.
