I have been using a P2k for a little while not but I'd like something faster.

Does anyone know if the Trinity Monsters of Touring 19T Double Motor(or any other motor in this line) is any good?

My ESC can only go down to 19T so my options are limited. I am also considering the Trinity Speed Gem 2 Quartz 19T Double Motor--many people have recommended this motor in previous posts with both positive and negative comments. Is it durable?

Any comments or suggestions with regards to these two motors will be greatly appreciated!

Just one comment, Speed Gems has bearings and MOT doesn't. I have a Sapphire (17t) and love it. I guess thats two comments!!

Either motor will suit your purpose: more speed. I have a MOT 15T, and it's great. The best part about it is how cheap it is. The Speed Gems will give you a few more features/options, but it'll all come down to how much you want to spend.

You can rebuild the speedgems as well...unlike the MOT

Hey Aphex,

Don't know anything about the MoM, but since you mentioned a 19T limit, you should check out the Chameleon Pro from Trinity. It's dyno-tuned, bearing-equipped, and really quite fast.

My Monsters of Touring 17T sucks! It doesn't spin smooth. I'd get the Speed Gem. The extra ten bucks is worth it I think.

When it comes to "cheap" Mod motors... the speed gems rains supreme. I've owned the 14x2 and the 11x3.. ran em till the comm couldn't be cut anymore ;) Right now I'm down to a 10x3 Kyosho X-Treme Speed motor. I've had AWESOME luck with it. I was skeptical w/ buying it..because I don't have a huge appriciation for Kyosho (argh!) :p The Kyosho motor runs like $7.00 more than a speed gems, and has ano'd heat sinks, and a vented can & "viewing window" for the comm. It accepts any Trinity brush that the Gem's do, and it accepts the same springs, rates, and timing. It's just like a Gems on Steroids. :D Anyway.. that's my bit.. just keep in mind the LOWER the turns the faster she'll run.. but it eats your batteries ALIVE. I've fricken MELTED 2 batts on this motor (running ZERO timing!)
so.. that's that. Go drive now.
