HELP TO AVOID FIRE!!!!!

i'm planning to get a new motor...prob gonna get the Trinity D4 9T High Variance Split Double Blank Motor...but i don't know exactly what pinion gear to set it at...i'm thinking a 17..and i also have a 64 tooth spur gear in my TC....i have a dually ESC..so i'm wondering what i should gear at and do i need to change my spur gear so i don't burn up anything in my car and still get about 4-5 min run for a race...thanks

I don't think that the Dually has a motor limit, check your cars manual to see if it has a suggestion for gearing certain motors. I know the TC3 does.

Lets see, off the top of my head, I am running a 26 pinion, a 102 spur (I think, give or take a tooth) and a 14 turn speed gems in my TC3. Seems to be the perfect gearing, motor just gets warm, I tried a 28 tooth pinion, and the motor was very hot, and I started dumping on the battery at the last 45 seconds of the race ( we race for 6 minutes)
