i already tried searching on here and didn't really get anything answered

i have a reedy matched 3300 stick pack. it will charge up just like any of my other packs. both with a dynamite twin peak charger and a mrc 959 peak charger.

whenever i put it in one of my trucks it will run FLAT and have no punch or power it feels like its dead. i tore apart the stick pack and no cells actually look bad and they are all connected fine.

how can i actually check each cell to see if it is bad? ... i don't have any fancy tools so i hope a voltmeter will work.

thanks

Actually, you can make do with a voltmeter, at least to see if you have a dead cell. What you do is go ahead & discharge the pack, & then use the meter to check each cell in the pack individually, all of them should return to near 1.2 volts with no load on them, but a dead cell will NOT recover its voltage(so it'd read MUCH lower, or read near 0). But aside from that(if that doesn't turn up anything), then you might just need to cycle the pack some, maybe work on how you discharge it & take care of it between charges. If a pack has been inactive for long periods, then it will be a little sluggish for a few runs, & then should get back to normal as you use it more(the heavy use kind of "wakes" it up). If you could, please tell us what you do to maintain your packs, like what you charge them at, how you discharge, how you store them, how long between runs, etc., that'll help us understand much better what could be going on with your packs....

hmmm well i'm not really sure what i do anything at. yeah i know its bad

the twin peak you just plug in the pack and hit start and the 959 is just about the same way but i charge it at 4 amps. discharging the only discharging i do is i set the truck up in the air and turn up the throttle trim until it starts spinning the wheels then i leave it there until the truck quits. i thought the 959 discharges batts but i guess it doesn't.

i'll have to check the cells but could i "discharge" them this way and then check them or do i need a deans discharger or something like that? this pack that i'm having problems with, i'm sure it sat outside for a month but not in the rain or anything cause the kid i bought my maxx off of gave me 2 batteries and i know he only used them a few times...hes my neighbor. i charged them / discharged them *my way* 4 times now and it still feels the same.
