i am running a rustler with a 13turn double speed gem motor, duratrax streak esc(which doesnt work right now) and have several different gear combinations. does anyone have any tips on further upgrades to get better speed and handling out of this vehicle? the suspension and radio are all stock. thanks

ok first im pretty sure that the streak has a motor limit and i think its 16 turn, so the first improvement is a new esc something like a novak dually or super rooster{ the super rooster would work great with the rustler** then full ball bearing witch will im prove your car so much, but you need the rpm caster blocks so your bearing dont blow out. trust me ive had the prob withan old stampede. then you might want to go for hard anonized oil shocks will improve handleing by so much. those should be your first upgrades in that order!

WELL, owning a super fast rustler myself, which has also been modified six ways from sunday, i had at one time a D4 14 quad, which was amazing, it could pull the wheels and wheelie down my street from a standstill start, get the RPM 5x11 bearing carriers, those are great, and then, get the machined gears, your car will be incredibly smoother, and coast forever and a day, those are the "serious" performance stuff, then get a Robinson spur gear, they are only 8 slipper peg holes, they need to be reamed out just a little bit, so they fit in, then, set gear mesh properly, the traxxas gears are some of the most out of round gears that i have encountered, they really are crappy. then get better tires, that is the best stuff.
Oh, and the Super Rooster is WAY huge, go with a dually, i am not the biggest fan of the super rooster. I run a P2K in my truck right now, it is adequately fast, i just liket o run it around the track in between mains for fun. Oh, i have the big bores and all that kinda good stuff

I have a 13t double that i use w/a novak fussion that has been my best bet so far. That combo works better then my Novak Super Rooster.

Robinson spur and pinions, 5x11 bearing carriers and MIP cvd's. Its amazing what a difference the cvd's make in run time.

well, ive got a rustler with a novak fusion, speed gems 2 garnet 13 turn duble wind with d3.5 arm for more torque. i luv saying that!!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif but this combination is awesome. with a dually, it would be godlike. the dually is what ima get when my fusion goes on the fritz. and i think it has. i just posted about that. but i had cvds, and they sucked. they bent, i lost the pins, and i lost the grub screws. i loctited everything!!! i just got rid of the stock bearings and carriers about 3 weeks ago after aout 3 years of having the stockers. i guess i never ran it hard enough!!! untill i started jumping and trying to do front flips everyday. i have big bores, they rule, a slipper, an rpm gear cover, ball bearings, and proline tires. all these things are awesome. i also have traxxas gears and have no problem. i wish i could get some robinson, but im poor and there is really no need to for me.
