I just want to see what kind of numbers your stock motors are turning. I'm interested because I've been compairing my P2K Pro with motors from the mag and other local racers stock plants. All this compairing has lead me to belive I lucked out with a wicked motor.
Here's my numbers
RPM 31,647
Eff. 79%
Torq. 162Nmm
Power 127.8W
This surprized me because the Green Macine 3 is suposed to be a RPM motor but I'm turning more than it. So please post your numbers.

Hawk - It's a pretty good motor. The good P2K motors I've tested run in the 130 to 135 watt range, with the highest at 141. I'll check the number on my motors when I get to my portable, but you're in the hunt. Sounds good.

Mines more of a torque motor.

RPM:27,878
EFF:89.8
TORQ:181Nmm
Power:127.8

Seem to have a lot of 7's and 8's!

Thanks, I thought the RPM is alot higher than anyone else's motors so thats why I want to see your numbers. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, that's about the same as the P2K's I've tested in my area. I've only seen one top 30,000rpm, & the torque numbers have been in the 172-179Nmm range, with power numbers in the 122-126W range. I've actually started to think that my Robi is somewhat pessimistic compared to others I'e heard from(either that, or we're just not getting any good motors out here, & I've been testing them for almost a year)....... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

My P2k I thought was pretty good.

RPM 29,216
Power 127.6
Eff 71.2
Torq 180

I have a D3.5 12T and the numbers are not much better.

RPM 29,778
Power 138.2
Eff 78.3
Torq 187

To me the 12 sounds like I got a bad one. Why am I supose to use a smaller pinion its not turning any faster.

I have a couple of P2K Pros. The numbers are

RPM 25,640 26,254
Power 118.6W 123.7W
Eff 69.0% 71.2%
Torq 174 Nmm 183 Nmm

It looks like you got a good one. Now the real question is, what is the difference between your 31,647 RPM motor and my 25,640 RPM motor? (Other than the obvious 6007 RPM.) What do I tweek to get mine up to 31K?

The difference seems to be that 1 is a 12turn and the other is a stock 27turn.

Aussie_man, I was asking what makes Hawkeye’s P2K run at 31K RPM and my P2K run at only 25K. If they have identical brushes, springs, bushings, etc, it seems logical that there is a way to tweak my motor to work as well as his motor. It can’t be all luck. It seems like there should be some physics involved.

actually it is luck. Some motors are just wound better than others. You can't mess around with the windings really. You can cut the comm, work on the bushings, play with brushes, and alignments to make it as fast as possible though.

Oh and Trinity dyno numbers can't be trusted. Some P2K "PRO" motors get out the door with 100W and 20,000 RPM, but the motor is a fast as any others. The reason is Trinity dynos thousands of motors and use alligator clips to connect the motor to the dyno. Nobody "tunes" or does serious work on them.

JonBoy - As I showed in a previous thread, your numbers on the D3.5 are way off. You're either reading them wrong, the label is misprinted, or your motor is toast. The following are dyno tests of D4 11T and 13T motors.

Looks like i have a just so-so motor.
RPM: 28,203
Power 121.0W
Eff. 66.2%
Torque 170nmm
just bought it...my numbers seem to be in the middle of good and bad.
