Hi all.

I have a question, quite too technical and impractical maybe, but still, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

I wonder if it is possible for the receiver (or rather the IC) to send a continous charge (current) by a recieving a single radio signal (i.e. a single activation command)?
In other words, would it be possible, for example, to activare an RC car with a single push of a button, without keeping it pressed down, and the car would run unntil it gets a command to stop.

you mean something like an onboard kill switch?

You're forgetting that the RX also needs power to operate. It probably can be done, I'm just not too sure on how you would go about doing it. someone with more experience will probably chime in.

I don't think it is possible to send electricity through air, at least I think that is what you are asking. It doesn't seem possible, and if it was possible, some one would have capitilized on it by now.

You mean like a remote starter?

What I mean is like a TV remote for example, you press the remote and the the TV runs, while in a RX car you have to hold the joystick. My question is wheteher it would be possible to activate the motor with a single signal (pressing once and not holding) and let the motor run until another signal to stop is sent.

THX all.

It sounds like you are building some sort of robot or something and want it to respond to binary chain commands. If thats not it, and you're just to lazy to properly adjust the thottle, I'm sorry, but it would seem that its not possible with standard electronics.

The only thing I can think of would be a servo positioned to opperate a simple on/off push button attached between the battery and the motor. You could set the speed by using an old mechanical speed control if you didn't want to go full throttle. The only issue there would be getting the steering setup properly, but you would use a more nitro setup anyway because you are using two servos instead of a servo and an ESC.

Thats actually kinda cool because you could do this as an electronic kill switch if you put it on one of the leads between the ESC and the motor. One could attach the servo to the MX-3's third function switch.

It sounds like you... ...function switch.

BINGO, Dude! (or babe)

That's exactly what I was talking about. The deal is I want the motor to run without holding up my hand, leaving them free to handle the trans and steering. Also to put on lights and sirens, so I don't have to hold down all the time I want them on.

THX a lot!

get those tx for planes or helis. The throttle stick stays at where u put it. ;)
