I race Stock over here in Australia and was wondering how I could make a kind of dyno for my motors. I dont have a real lot of money to buy 1 so I was thinking of how to make 1. It doesn have to be all fancy and digital with LCD screens and stuff, just something to measure Rpm, torque and all that stuff. I was thinking of havinga little generator hooked up to the test motor and obsering how many volts the motor could produce as a way of finding out which motor is best. Any suggestios would be greatly appreciated. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Buds make a motor analyzer thats pretty inexpensive and requires use of a volt meter and some calculations.

Aussie_man, yeah Buds make one - it's $76.95 USD at Stormer Hobbies. That's about $3498.99 AUD http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif So you're no better off!
Seriously, including shpping and conversion, it would be about $200 Oz, which might be worth a look.

If you don't mind doing things yourself then give this site some consideration.
http://www.nascart.com/emd.htm

They even have motor sheets downloadable.

Or you can invest your money in a brushless subsystem from http://www.modeltech.co.uk. It's 245.00 pounds sterling if your aren't subject to the UK VAT (in which case you pay 285.00).

Those Dynos dont look too bad, but how do you find out the RPM and all that stuff?
