Hey has anyone seen this being used? Its cordless and only reaches 800 degrees when it touchs metal. otherwise you can touch bare handed right after using it. Just wondering how well it works its only 19.99

for thin guage, its ok. for the stuff that we use, its just not strong enough. your best bet is a much stronger iron

Doesn't work for RC use - soldering batts or heavy wires.

Here's a recent discussion blog about it. Granted, the author used it on a PCBoard when the leaflet specifically states it's not to be used for IC circuits... fun to read the comments anyway:
