I have a TC3 Factory Team kit on order and I'm about to start buying the things I need for it. It is my first electric car in a long time and all I've purchased so far is a charger (Integy - very nice http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ).
I was looking at ESCs the other day and I saw a Novak meant especially for TCs. What is the difference between this and other ESCs? What does it do that is special?
thanks

as far as ii know(and im not an expert), they have specific profiles for a tc(more specific braking, and a current limitter that is specific to a tc). But go to www.teamnovak.com (http://www.teamnovak.com) . it will help you more than I can

The Cyclone and Cyclone TC have 3 stored profiles of parameters that affect the way in which the ESC works - stuff like dead band, drive and brake frequency and drag brake. They also have a fourth profile that can be customised and downloaded if you have the PC software or Pit Wizard (The PW is a hand-held device that plugs into the C/TC).
The basic difference between the Cyclone and the TC is that the profiles in the TC are made for touring cars whereas in the Cyclone they're more general. All other aspects like resistance, current capacity etc are the same.
If you have the software or PW, there's no reason why you can't program a TC profile into the C, or vice versa. At one club I raced at there was a dude who had a TC in his XXT....
If you go to Novak's web site you can download a PDF version of the C/TC manual, which has a small section that explains the profiles and selecting them.
