Yes, I know some of you don't remember me, but I do have a lot of old friends on here. Where have I been? Health problems have forced me to hang up the airbrush for the time being. I'd like to say that I'm going to start painting again soon, but right now I don't know. If I do, it won't be on the scale it was. Probably only one body a month or something.

The main reason I haven't been by here recently is that it's hard for me to look at all the incredible paint jobs and not be able to paint myself. Kind of like being on a diet and watching people eat chocolate cake. Mmmmm.... cake....

But, I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth. I'm currently out of R/C all together due to financial reasons, and, again, not being healthy enough to race and sitting here looking at all my stuff, but I'm hoping to start racing again next season. I guess we'll see what happens...

Cosmo, good to hear you are still around. You are one of the OG Painters since the HPI Forum days. I can fully relate as far as health problems...i have my share as well...kinda a life changing experience when you actually are face to face with your own mortality and realize how fragile our bodies really are. Coming from 4 years of highschool football, 3 years of college ball, 3 years of Semi Pro, 2 years of Arena, it is a eye openner that i can not even ride a rollercoaster with out having any complications. Painting is really a luxury i still have, but could be limited as well. Hope you drop in more now...you can get a hold of me through the website...it is still that same. Take it easy man...and l'll see you around!

Hey Charlie. Good to hear from you.

I have some of the same problems. I played hockey since I was 5, and played 3 games of pro hockey before breaking both bones in my lower left leg. So, in addition to health problems, I have bad arthritis in my left leg. So much so that I sold my current car (which is a 5 speed) to buy an automatic.

Man, we sound like a couple of old ladies sitting on the front porch comparing ailments....

Cosmo, great to see you stopping by from time to time. It's always great to see you on here. I wish you nothing but the best and if there's a way I can help you, please don't hesitate to ask. Although I've never met you face to face, I still consider you a friend. Your work and willingness to help people out has left an indelible mark in the world. I hope to see you on here more often. Great to see you around here.

Well, I'm planning on doing some painting during Thanksgiving vacation. My cousin just got his first R/C car, and wants me to paint a body for him while they are in town. So, everyone keep your fingers crossed for me...

Well, I've been "redesigning" it for quite a while. I need to add something to it to say it will take a little longer...

I've been doing graphic design work for a while (that's my full time job) so I was going to start doing freelance work on the side, but I'm starting to rethink that now. My girlfriend and I started a business making jewelry, and that is doing better than I ever imagined. So well, in fact, that I may quit my graphic design job to do that full time if things keep going like they are. I also have moonlighted as a glass blower for several years, and for the past year I've been teaching classes all over the east coast. That's another reason I'm not going back into painting like I once was. I just don't have time.

I love painting, and I intend to try my hand at it again soon, but it's just going to be for enjoyment, not for employment. If I can get a body finished in a week, that's fine, but I don't want to have to force myself to make time to paint if I don't have it. I'm going to make sort of a goal to paint one body a month next year, and possibly try putting them on Ebay again (although I haven't had great success with that) but most of that is still up in the air as of now.

I did, however, spend about an hour cleaning my airbrush last night and replacing some worn seals. So, I'm going in the right direction...
