View Full Version : Who says you can't run an E-Maxx in the mud?!?!

We have made a small track where I work. It has been raining alot lately. Well, it sorta stopped yesterday, and then drizzled again today. We like to go out on our lunch break, and run our trucks and buggies.

Today, even though the ground was damp, we went for it anyway. The E-Maxx was slinging mud and unstoppable as usual.

Today when I got home, I had a chance to see just how much mud had caked on it. I swear it made the Maxx way heavier than normal. And now, I think I am going to have to disassemble it to actually get it clean!

Here is a pic, and if you want to see the rest of the incredible pictures of an E-Maxx caked in mud, go to www.photopoint.com (http://www.photopoint.com) and click on "look at a friends album" and enter my e-mail address: tkeliher@socal.rr.com and then go to the album called "Muddy Maxx" http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I did not! LOL

I ran my rustler through **** and back, and it was a blast, i can just imagine one of those beast flinging mud up with all four tires, SWEEET!

Yep, "buggy blast" and a brush didn't work very well. I resorted to removing all the electronics; servos; motors and just hosing it down and drying it with compressed air. Whew! What a job! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/eek.gif

But, it gave me a chance to see how this thing is put together and also to tighten up a few loose screws (driver excluded, heh-heh)

You know what works great on trucks/cars that get dirty, and even though you clean them, they still do not have that "shiny" black, i use Simple Green and a tooth brush, not WD-40, that just attracts dirt, plus, it is also a great tire conditioner! And it smells good.

XXXER: that is a good tip, thanks!

I have been using Simple Green as my fullsize car engine degreaser for many years now, and also use it to clean stains from clothes, and carpets. I shoulda thought of it myself. Simple Green is a miracle cleaner that works on just about anything!

XXXer, Oldphart, thanks for the cleaning tips. I'm really kinda slidish when it comes to puttin my trucks in the mud. I know, I know, wheres the fun if you don't treat a truck like a truck.

Yes, that is the XTM shock tower. It does specify on the package it is for the rear.

Hobby People is the parent company of XTM, and they sell it for less then Tower. I also got the XTM steering bellcranks.

Simple question, is the E-Maxx hard on front suspension parts like the T-Maxx? I finally had to go with the RPM arms. The add claims that they are guaranteed not to break. I never thought of simple green either. Do you think it is safe with my T-Maxx engine? I guess if it is safe on a full scale engine it should be for a nitro one. I wonder if it will remove that nitro goo off my header?

other than it being red the shock tower looks exactly like the powerline shock towers. What makes it a rear shock tower and not for front/rear?
