I built the ORCA,easy build,caus finish i ruff.real boat was mess,an old tub.also built SS MINNOW

Yes I am. Still in the planning stages at the moment because I am going to be changing a few things to make it closer to scale, doubling it's size (yea, thats 60"), and doing full interior details hopfully including working helm wheel s and all. I will also be adding a couple winch motors on to be able to use as retrieval boat and to fish from (hence the 60" also).

Two thoughts though...

1) Do you think a motor and gearbox from an old cordless drill will push this beast.

2) Do you think it's big enough to fish from, or will it turn into a bouy :)

Any ideas that you might have would certainly be helpful, since this will be my first scratch build.

i think that 1 or 2 drill motors will be plenty, if you've ever used one you would probably know that its nearly impossible to stop that thing from spinning when you put your hand on it. it will definetly be strong enough to push your "60" inch as my opinion.
