Just a teaser, but that's enough for us to start the speculation machine! Robots constructed of servos (like Hitec's RoboNova-1) seem to be the next SOMEthing, if not the next BIG thing, in Japan--could HPI be working on something similar?

Thank you Tony G for the tip!

Would rather have one that cleans up my RC after I'm done with it. :D

I wouldn't mind strapping one to one of my MT's and launching it. Actually, I have a Robosapian and it's alot of fun. The dog hates it though:)

I'm curious to know how they found out what the site was... It hasn't exactly been optimized for search engines yet and there's just the teaser intro.

It would be cool to have it ride on my RC vehicles so it can get off and put my truck back on its wheels when it flips over.

I like the whole rock'em sock'em idea "Two robots step in (kind of) the arena only one steps out!' LOL!

I like that idea, but you will need two controllers right? still cool ha ha ha....

Hey, maybe one day they'll replace turn marshals! Build 'em full of lazers and sensors to detect turned cars and program 'em to run to the overturned car, flip it right-side up and run back to their corner.

It would be cooler to have an RC Motocross (or why not on one of those ATV's? that would probably be possible too) and having the robot make a Super Man one handed seatgrab ;D

But of course! That's what the sensors are for silly. Kinda defeats the purpose if the robot can't do a better job then the marshal you already have. ;)

I must have missed the sensors part.

Although this idea isn't exactly new, (didn't Kyosho build some robots a while back?) It does sound interesting. In Japan robots have really taken off. Its true that most of them are used in industry or they or very low quality childrens toys, but still. I think HPI may find a market for their product should they choose to release it.

i want it to race my revo for me, arent robots perfect?, and it can tune it just..... right, ill be kickin down at the track. If it did that, id buy it no matter what it costs if it was a reality soon

That would take all the fun out of RC if you were not controlling the truck.

I think an HPI robot getting into an HPI Baja buggy (or truck!) would be super sweet!

I think we have to wait a loooong time for more news about the robots, its kind of the same as with the "revo", traxxas started a new site and 1 and a half year later, the revo was here!

Looks like an add they should have used for the Hellfire.

ok heres how they will be introduced. at the next hobby show, the hpi robot will take on biohazzard, nightmare, mechadon and all of team s.l.a.m. at the same time. after defeating them all,the hpi robot will become the new robot wars world champion, after literally stealing it from biohazzard. battlebots will start back up again, and the hpi robot will be the robot to beat........

psyche! ok it might not happen that way, but hey, I can dream right?!

Just received this from "JS"...

I saw you have talk about the Hpirobot and the Hitec robot, so I decide to
send you more information about this new wave.

Sanwa(Airtronic) will supply their first economy controller for humanoide
and also the fully programmable airplane controller for robots
http://www.sanwa-denshi.co.jp/

Vstone will commercial the fully functional humanoide which will be the
legendary "Classic" Tetsujin28 (Ironman T-28)
http://www.vstone.co.jp/top/products/robot/T28/

Kyosho will come out their own rchumanoide probably this Christmas with a
1/5scale Manoi, this is the second sucessful prototye with smaller unit then
the first one about 1/3 shorter.
http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/race/race_event/event/2005_prshow/robot-j.html

Thank you.

prices will go down once demand is up

Basic economics: it is the other way around!!

Much demand + low offer = high price
Much offer + low demand = low price

199,980 Yen is $1,678.78 US Dollars.

A little much for my budget.

But that is one cool looking robot. To bad it wasn't a little bigger because I would program it to clean the bathroom.........................
