The company has a bad rep for producing junk, not as bad as smartec but alot of people will say its close. I think they are good for young drivers, DuraTraxx stands behind thier product with the one year stress warranty. I bought one and it was bad, it didnt jump for crap or handle very well and was alot heavier than the other buggies out there.
Just my 2cents! :)

I love my evader pro(but i only bash with it, i am not much of a racer) I run the novak SS5800 in it without a single porblem yet. My 2 yournger brothers have htem also and they have had no problems either.

In my opinion they are ok RC's. They are not quite up to the race standard truck of Losi or AE but they seem fairly good for the basher and casual racer. They are definately better than a radio shack special. So if you can get spares and a decent price for one I would say they are great to play with and learn. Once you drive fairly well you will be able to feel some of the differences.
I have seen a good driver take a Duratrax and beat 95% of the people with a losi\AE. A top end car only makes a bad driver a guy with a top end car. Your lap times will still be bad. Good drivers can make all but the worst rc look fairly good. Its all about learning the limits of the car. If you are not hitting the limit of the car then you gain nothing with a different car. The average racer with some wheel time and practice will start hitting some limits of the duratrax in a year.(Yes some are earlier some are later)

I think that dtx is more of a entry level/budget minded cars and trucks. That's why I like them.

Ive got a bx and it rocks for bashing. I think duratrax's sucked a lot more before the evader series came out, now the quality is up. LOL, i jumped my bx 6-7ft down into a basement they were digging out for a house...no damage :D

The Duratrax Ice charger is the best product theyv'e made and in my opinion one of the best period. If you run Lipo and nickel cells like me, it's perfect. The Ice will charge just about anything. A high quality product.

Even after all the negativity towards Duratrax, The main thing I like is the little "Made In USA" sticker....

Funny, isn't it? And yet they all love the ICE. Hypocrisy at it's finest. I have the ST and it is a FAR better equipped truck than my T3, with the exception of the motor and speedo.

You know I have had RC10's and HPI and other cars over the years and the Evader's are far better equipped than any other R/C I have ever owned. I think the reason people are so against them is because they have never seen a company pack so much into an RTR and it be so affordable, so they feel that it must be poor quality. I have never seen so many graphite parts come on an RTR as what comes on a Pro.

For an RTR, atleast they give a somewhat decent motor and esc. they offer some decent tunability and the evader st is an XXT from losi. somewhat outdated, but still competitive. I'm a big fan of the chargers. I have a few and theyre pretty good, with the exception of the power supply

Please check the stickers "made in ..." and let us know, I will look at some of mine. DTX probably doesn't produce a thing.
