I've been thinking about getting one for my XXXT pretty soon, will it be worth it? I think it was about $50 at my LHS. I want to know if it will give my truck better acceleration, top speed, jumping ability or anything like that. Does anybody have experience with both versions (stock and graphite)? What are your opinions about them?

I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere if you dont have a lot to spend. I run them, but only after getting the stuff that really counts.

I'm definitely getting all the necessary (and cool) hop-ups; I just want to know if this one would be worth my while and money. Steve, have you noticed any difference from running your graphite chassis?

You won't really see a difference. The gaphite chassis may be fractionally lighter, and a little stronger, but I know you won't see lap times drop even a tenth of a second by simply adding the new chassis. It's one of those options that, when combined with everything else you can change on the car, might add up to a very small advantage. I might still add one to my car because I like trick stuff. It's not going to hurt you, but it's not going to help you either.

OK, that's what I needed to hear. I'll definitely put it lower on my priority list then. I'll get one eventually, though, because I really dig trick stuff, too.

Well,
What the graphite chassis will do for you it make the car more precise.
If you make the chassis stiffer, The suspension has to do more, if not all of the work to absorb bumps, etc.
The standard chassis flexes a little more, which makes the car a little more forgiving, and easier to drive.
The graphite chassis will make smaller setup changes more noticeable.
Most of the Lost team drivers run the standard chassis. It is just a little easier to get the setup "in the ballpark".

That's another good perspective. Thanks. It has now been pushed even further down the list... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
