I used to race 1/12 Traxxas Cars in late 80's. I recently bought a Nitro Stampede.... boy how things change. Anyway, I only have road course tracks around here. So I am looking into getting the Sedan Division. We have an indoor and outdoor track in the area. So I am guessing to be able to race more, I should probably go electric. What has been really succesful for around $300. I have an extra radio. So it doesn't have to be RTR. I appreciate any help. Thanks.....

well,

I just recently re-entered the hobby myself,... I've been out of it since '87 or '88. I have a T-Maxx right now that I bought for fun (since I've never tried nitro) but I have a RC10 TC3 Factory Team kit on order. This seems like an awesome TC! I'm paying $385 and the kit needs, wheels, tires, body and electronics. It comes with all the goodies though http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif If you want to sacrafice some goodies you could go for the "Team" kit (comes with wheels and tires but no body,... still lots of nice hop up stuff) or the "racer" kit (comes with wheels, tires and body and a lot less hop up stuff).

In my quest for a touring car I found that there is some real nice stuff out there. I always drove off-road cars back in the day so this is very new to me. You should definitely look around,... try to find a copy of RCCA's Touring Car special issue that came out in fall of 2000, I've found it to be a great resource

Good luck!

Try the Vehicle Forum on this BB. There is supposed to be a real good post about the TC3. If you want to keep it under $300 then try the TC3 Racer not the juiced Factory team version. Of course buying the Team Car might save you money in the long run. It usually is a lot more expensive to add the same hop up parts your self later. There is also the HPI RS4 for about $160, the Kyosho TF-3 $140, the Tamiya TAO-3 $140, and the Traxxas 4-Tec for about $130. I have not run the cars listed abouve but wanted you to have more options than just the TC3. I personally would take the TC3 over these others because it seems to be one of the Best and I am partial to Associated after owning a 10LS and 10L3 oval. The Tamyia would be my second choice then the HPI. Just wanted to give my two cents. I would have added the TB Evolution but it runs about $420. In it's defence it is a limited edition RACE car.

i got a tc3 since they dont have belts. however the new pro 3 looks to be very good and cheap, hpi has a reputation for very durable club level races. now that they have hara they might go and compete with yokomo AE and those guys.

however i would suggest waiting for the reviews on it since its a totaly new design and seems very logical.

however the tc3 is great, itsa little fragile however that can be solved with nerf bars and bumpers from bud (brpracing.com)
