In a TRAXXAS or similar 2 speed transmission, which way does the little aluminum thing that contains the little pawl that engages with centrifical force and makes the second gear work go? Does it go so that it will posotively engage against the pins, of does it go so that it could slip over them without enough rotational speed?

Hey Curtis. It goes so it positively engages the pins. Thats why there's a "kick" into second gear.

that's what I thought, but it will not engage 2nd gear, just freewheels?
