Recently I've changed my screen name... I used to be mrfyrehawk, but since my main focus is my Project TL01, I thought a more appropriate name was in order. Fitting, don't you think?
Anyways, I was contacted a few days ago by Graham Dell, a fellow TL01 owner who stumbled upon my personal webpage all about my TL01. He informed me that he was in the process of building his own site dedicated to the TL and it's now up and running.
Check it out here
<a href="http://www.grahamdell.co.uk/tl01/index.html">TL01 Unofficial Website</a>
It's looks like it should be a pretty cool place for TL01 owners to visit. It's got a Forum just like this one a Buy/Sell Forum, a Perfromance Tips Forum... all related to just the TL01.
(ps. he would've posted himself, but hotmail accnts are banned from this board)

Sounds great I'll have to check it out. By the way, how are you coming on your project?

TL01, I like it. I went to the site and the car is coming along great. One question. Why did you install the rear shocks upsidedown?
The car is really phat man and I know when it's finally done it'll be the bomb http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif Keep us posted.

Upside down.... cuz... why not? I'd seen it done on some other cars and thought it'd be different. It doesn't effect performance at all. One thing to note though... upside down keeps the shock shaft up away from the road and dirt which should help it last longer between rebuilds. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Good point. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif but right side up the dirt will sit too. I guess either way you're screwed. I just like the way it looks.
I just updated the website today. Not much to report, but it's something.

Whenever I have run a car, the road grime/dirt seems to get everywhere. Having the shock upside down will give this debris a nice place to sit and, from looking at your pictures, gum up the shocks even more. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, especially if you keep your car clean, but it is somthing to think about.

Sure you can. I think all you would really need are rally tires and rally shocks.

Project TL01 - It's great having you here to help others with their TL01 cars, but the rules specifically state that "visit my website" links are not allowed. Too many BBs are flooded with these types of links and we don't want this one to become a flea market for those types of posts - it defeats the purpose of having this BB in the first place. Please re-read the user guidelines to which you agreed when you signed up if you have any further questions.

I think that TLO1 is doing all of us a favor by adding his info and experience with his TLO1 and what is the administration doing? Busting this guys chops! It is silly. He isn't posting links to things for sale or to mess up this site he is just sharing info. Cut him a break. Oh i know, if we do it for him we have to do it for everyone. Please..

I'm glad to see a Tamiya kit (TL01) is being talked about so much on these boards. I own two TA03s and now a TA04. Is there anywhere I can find out the difference between all these chassis?
Thanks!

Wow, this thread is getting quite a response!!!
1) Admin: You won't see anymore links to other peoples pages, even mine, in this thread or any new threads from me. I've got one in my Project TL01 thread and that's good for me. My apologies.
2) AnimeKing: Well basically, the TL is a beginners model that's pretty much stripped to the bones in terms of performance parts. The shocks **** , the camber isn't adjustable, likewise on the toe-in, the plastic bushings **** , it wieghs a ton, and you can't really appreciate what it has to offer in terms of performance until you fix the suspension and at least get some bearings in it. Then it starts to shine. I suppose it's a real fun car to drive. I wouldn't know. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif I still don't have a radio!! *lol*

I got the stadium raider kit, how sould I make it a touring car? Tires and Body? Or is there more?

Hmmm... definately wheels and tires, body. I would think you would need shorter touring shocks as well. Anyone else got any ideas?

I put on new tires and left the body on, and took it for a spin at my local raceway, ran pretty well. Im gonna get a new Ford Taurus Body soon

I've made my TOL1 back and forth from a car to a truck and body, tires, shocks is basically all you need. Then i got the TOL1B which is the buggy version and its basicly the same so thats really all u need to convert either way i think...

I've converted my TL01 into a rally car it is sweet, I drive through snow, dirt and gravel all the time. All you need is a little higher suspention and rally tires, hell, you don't even need rally tires if you got some nice tready radials.
