Hi everyone,
I'm new to these forums and returning to the hobby from a 6 year hiatus. Man have things changed a lot in that time. Brushless motors and Lipo batteries have got me excited about returning to the hobby.
Anyways, now that I've bored you with that, on to my question. I'm looking to pick up an electric sedan (all my old vehicles were off-roaders), and I'm looking for something that will be a good match for a high powered brushless/lipo set-up.
I've been looking at the Tamiya TA05 as it looks like a very efficient drivetrain and I can get it with the Ferrari 430 body, plus the price is pretty good. My concerns with it are that the belts won't be able to with stand high torque launches, would a shaft driven car be a better choice?
I'm not planning to do any organized racing, just high speed runs and bashing, maybe I'll pick up some drift tires at some point. What would everyone recommend?
Thanks.
