my venom f/s worked fine on a rc10gt then 2 yrs later it worked [showed power] only with radio off, whrn i turn it on to test radio and f/s reponse--nothing. did i hear that venom's don't work on t maxx. And most people [i see online] dont seem to use/sell them anyway. why is that? never asked the hobby guys in my area.

I have a Venom fail-safe on my T-Maxx and it works fine. Its only shut me down once, when the Rx batteries got too low.

I have one on my tmaxx. Had trouble with it for ages, it went into shut off mode permantly, then I realised it was the rechargable batteries I was using. Rechagable batteries are only 1.2volts not 1.5 of normal batt. The fail safe registered the low voltage and shut the throttle off. I changed to normal batts in both my reciever and controller and now it works great.

If you're going to use rechargeable batts, need a 5 cell tx pac so you start with 6.0v, not 4.8v that you'd get with 4 rechargeables in the 4 cell holder.

Even if you run without the failsafe (not recommended) so you can use 4 rechargeables, you are not running full power to your servos. Def use a 5 cell pac when you switch to rechargeables - either a hump pac or a flat pac.
