Does anyone have a Tamiya TB Evolution? I have not seen anyone even mention this car. Any ideas why? I think it is because the cheapest price I have found it is $419. I am just looking for an owners point of view of the car. Anyone have an opinion on why it is soooooo expensive? A TC3 Racer or the Schumacher SST Axis are GREAT cars and half the price.
Any one have any thoughts on this?

It's a very intriguing car that looks like it could be very competitive, but the price is a limiting factor. Tamiya also makes a 414 car that's not currently imported. It also appears to have great racing potential as well and is less expensive. I've toyed with the idea of getting the Evo because I like trying differnt things. A more practical choice would be to get a TC3 or a similarly popular car so replacement parts and tuning advice will be easier to come by, but like I said, I like to try the unconvetional stuff. It's a matter of choice.

I read Greg Vogel's article in the March 2001 issue and was surprised that it wasn't more competitive out of the box. I was not surprised about how durable it was. Tamiya has always made strong cars and trucks. With a few rare exceptions. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I agree, the TC3 would be a more practical choice for the average racer/hobbyist. I wanted one from the time I looked at the cover of RCCA. Just can't get over how much it costs. I think I read somewhere that this was a limited edition car and that might explain the high price.
Thanks,

PS Did you dig out of the snow yet? I bet you hooked snowplows and tire chains up to every RC monster truck in the office and used them to shovel the snow. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif
