hey im starting racing and have a tl-01 right now so im looking at a new electric car i have a good charger and ok esc and good batteries so i can run almost any class excpet those running 6or7turn motors so which is easier and maybe cheaper out of off road and on road im looking at a tc4 or t4 cause for the money u cant beat these cars and they seem to win. i have an old elec buggy but nothing as nice as a t4 so which class is easyer to learn to drive?? is either cheaper?? im leaning towards eaither 19t or stock so i dont stress the esc or batteries besides i dont think i could control a 40mph touring car lol with my tl-01 my best lap was about 4 sec of nd my average was about 2 second slower and my car wont even drive straight yes chek the trims already and servo servo saver the car is just stuffed so time for a new one i have two touring car tracks close and about 2 offroad tracks close but the touring car seems to be more organised which kinda suits me but then i dont wanna be getting my butt kicked bye pro's every week??? any idea's on a good learning class and why???
thanks for ya time

If you have 2 tracks close by I'd suggest going to all of them and just watching the action and talking to some people. Most people here just race one or the other, so you're just going to get a bunch of biased opinions (mine being off-road ;) ). So go watch the races and decide which one would entertain you more. Who knows... maybe someone will let you drive their car or let you borrow their "." key for your keyboard.

Or at least the shift key. At any rate I've raced both. Touring cars cost more, particularly the tires, but are easier to drive largly because the tracks don't change much and the 4wd. Offroad requires several skills like jumping so it's harder to learn. Either way you'll wan't to start with a stock motor. Your best bet is to spend some time with the people at the track and if you don't have a preference for onroad or offroad go with the one you like the people the best. It's a lot more fun if you like the people your racing with.

I think you need to visit the tracks. It is not about learing to drive one. It is more about which one gives you the most excitement. I love off road but I would hate for someone who is the worlds largest nascar fan choose off road when he may get more enjoyment out of asphalt. Make you choice based on preference.

I loved them all but never owned a staduim truck. I've raced offroad 2 &4wd electric, onroad 1/12, 1/8 gas, 1/10th touring car, 1/10 dirt oval, 1/10 & 1/12 carpet oval. Each is a slightly different driving style but indoor racing doesn't have to contend with weather and a little cleaner than dirt racing.

Depends on each person's individuals level of racing. Some stick with it has only a hobby - staying with the less expensive items while others go the competitive route purchasing high end items and support products (dynos, zappers etc) and sometimes using a specific chassis for a certain track.
You could keep the cost to around $300 (vehicle and equipment) to over $5000 over a period of years in vehicles, radios, chargers, batteries, motors and testing/maintenace equipment. Don't forget parts, tires, bodies etc.

You'll find that at almost anywhere you race. Fellow competitors who will not only give you information but also lend you parts to help out.

I like them both. I race onroad more than off road. Onroad can still be fun with off road vehicles, just throw some ramps down

I used to race off road, but have much less spare time now so I'm racing on road. Much less work between races. Quick blow out at the track and a bit of maintenance at home in on road. Dirt, mub and crap to clean up each and every time with off road.
If you're racing with fun people, either form of racing is a hoot.
Go to the track were they are having fun.
