What kinda size are we talking here?

I'm just thinking (remember its early morning here so pardon me if its stupid!!), but u cud get a starting point with an old chassis from something, tack on some old body posts or something to "stand" the boat on. Im not too sure what u cud do for an axle, again perhaps u cud "recycle" something :). U cud go as far as putting some wheelie bar wheels along the centre for the boat to roll on/off. Wud be pretty cool reversing the trailer into the water, then driving the boat off :D:D.

Fes, good luck. A few years back, after I saw a pic of a TC pulling a boat and trailer, I did the same thing and searched the forums and internet over for what your in search of and didn't come up with much. All I found was a few hack built trailers and not many pics at all. No plans.
You might find a manufactured trailer seeing as how more and more boats are coming with them.

Your best bet is to solicit MikeV. or someone similar for some guidance in scratch building your own. Pull up some reference pics from the internet and get some cardboard and mock up something until your satisfied. Then build it up from whatever material you like.

I downloaded some videos from the VintageTamiya forum. One video is of a truck launching a boat off a full size boat ramp. I though it was pretty cool.

A long time ago (in another life), I started building a trailer for an old Dumas 38KV (Miami Vice) that I thought I could pull with my Associated Pan car (with white Testarossa body). By the time I got the pan car geared woen enough to pull the boat, I couldn't get enough traction. I has used wood strips for the frame and toy car wheels and axles. RC hardware I'm sure would work better and Aluminum is better still.

you cud use axles and leaf springs from hte rear axle of 1 of the tamiya haulers, and you cud use sum creativly folded sheet metal for the chassis

Hey Fes,
Here's a suggestion (excuse the rough sketch)..
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y293/mikevillena/trailerplan.jpg

You'll need some reference photos so that you have something to copy from. Make the square beams from pieces of .040 x (whatever scale width) styrene plastic. You'll also need to scratchbuild the axle which gets mounted onto the leaf springs. Some trailers have underslung axles, some have overslung. Again, check with your references. Most trailers share a general design so you can probably use the same basic chassis for different purposes. I would recommend using Tamiya or HPI Mini wheels and tires. Don't forget the fenders, license plate and trailer lights!!! ;) Might be a lot of work but it should look reasonably accurate. BTW, Styrene plastic is surprisingly very strong if built correctly. Let me know if you need further help.

For an axle, I would use wheels from the front of a Nitro Stadium Truck (THe ones with bearings mounted in the wheel). Then I would find the closest diameter all-thread rod to the wheel bearing size, and use that for axle. To mount the axle, bolt a piece of aluminum angle, or one of those door frame braces, to the trailer deck, and drill a hole in each for the axle to run through.
