Higher end radio's like Futaba's 3PK or Airtronics M8/M11 have adjustments so you can switch the wheel to the left side. Other then that I've seen some guys hold the radio sideways with their right hand so they can steer with their left.

There was a guy at my local track and he was a lefty. He just turned the controller backwards, and used his thumb for the throttle and brake and steered with his left hand. He was really good too.

Im a righty, but I do hold my radio akwardly. I hold it sorta sideways so I can steer with my left hand and trigger with my right. The reason I do this, is so when Im steering, no matter what direction the car is actually moving, a move to " my right" makes the car turn to the right, instead of the normal movement of pulling the wheel up for left or down for right. It does tend to make being on the stand a little diffilcult though cause the antenae points to my left and I have accidentally "stabbed" the driver to my left once or twice  Once I go DSM though, this will no longer be an issue :D

I'm left handed too. I use my left hand to hold the radio and control the throttle, and my right to steer.

Im lefty but I drive my car "righty" because cheap radios that come with RTR's don't let you change to a lefty driving position. I have a M11 now and I tried the lefty driving position and all I do is crash.

imo it's like driving with a stick radio, you just have to get used to it

im a lefty. i had the same problem. i was using a right handed radio and couldn't drive. so i bought an airtronics M8. made things much easier. that radio got broken, at the time i couldn't afford to go out and buy a new one (those aren't cheep you know) so i was stuck using a right handed radio. after a couple months i found out that if i held it flat in my right hand (as if you layed it on a table face up) worked the trigger with right thumb, steered with my left hand and rested the base (bottom) of the radio against my stomach to steady it, it was much easier than just trying to drive righty.

I have a good friend who is right handed but drives lefty becuase when he got his first radio he didn't know it was left handed and that was how he learned to drive.

At my track they have a beginners group for the little kids and the brand newbies who have a hard time keeping their cars off the boards every 5 seconds. (The race is usually a total hack fest, and the winner is usually the last one standing after the demolition derby style mayhem) Last time I was at a race, there was an older guy in the beginner group who had his left hand contorted over the radio so he could steer left handed. Personally, that looked harder than just attempting to learn how to steer right handed. If you dad is just starting out and not racing, I don't think its really worth to go out and buy a high end radio and the kit to make it left handed. I guess practice makes perfect :D

I am a lefty too, but learned to use some right handed things. Both in baseball and rc I just learned to use things in a right handed manner. It didn't seem hard for me to adjust.

I'm a lefty, and I use the remote like a righty. I learned to drive on sticks though, I don't know if that made a difference. When I switched to pistol I was all messed up, I originally had the wheel turn left to make the car turn right and vice versa, but eventually switched back. It's really not that hard to switch, I think I could go to a lefty style if I had to, you just gotta do it enough so you become used to it.

im a lefty, and im 13, so wen all mi m8s ask 2 hav a go, they all hold the pistol in their right hand, this must be the natural way to do it for some people, althought i hav no trouble using pistol (for mi savage), or sticks (mi gemini 2 for racing mi mr4bc).

Righty but steer with left hand - trigger finger is my rt hand - always will be. So I got a 3pk and spectrum. Havent cross the wheel over to the other side - been driving left hand overthe top of the radio. Hence why the spektrum was needed.

Oh well - just chiming in ...
