hey gang! here we have a hpi 200 mm ford flareside pick up body!the weather was not so good so i didnt airbrush it,but i was anxious to paint another body!,lol!so i did this 1 with the what was left in the rattle cans of testors enamel paint!
******WARNING- ANYBODY GETTING INTO PAINTING OR THINKING ABOUT IT,ENEMAL PAINT IS NO GOOD FOR LEXAN BODIES*****
the black paints were done with krylon fusion paint!as u can see iw ent for the carbon fiper look but a attempt at it failed completey.if i didnt do the chessy fireballs on the side ,i really could have gotton away with it. it iss all paint no stickers!the color of the truck is a dark blue but the pics make it lighter i think do to the flash, anyway here is it for your viewing pleasure!!!!.............enjoy! :D

its on a curved surface, so when you let go of the liner it lifts off the plastic and lets paint "bushi" around. Try window tint first, then put the liner, hold it down with your hand(get rubber gloves or somthing) spray silver, then back it with black.

Fes, another thing to do with masking tape is to follow RespirologyRC's technique. After laying down your masking tape, hit with a hairdryer to seal it better. Another option is to pick up some 3M painters tape. Either one you go with, hit it with a hairdryer before putting a blade to it. Use your fingernail to burnish the edges after you peel up an area to paint. This will reduce your paint bleed.
For the CF look, I've found that laying down your silver first produces a better effect. You might want to take a look at Leadfoot's how-to page and see what he did for CF (about the most realistic looking CF on the boards).

Hey Fes, ya learn something with every experience. I think the hood pattern is interesting and could be used in a smaller degree. Like under a rip or in a fade or something.
Way to go with not letting the weather stop your painting. You now have learned more and have more experience. All the while getting closer to perfecting the effects your after.
Keep sprayin'
