I've only used two airbrushes, but the first one was a Paasche VL. It looks similar to the VJS, like it's a siphon-feed version.

I started with that Paasche and was very frustrated. Granted, part of my frustration was with airbrushing in general (I thought it would be a lot easier than it turned out to be :) ). I went to a couple of "How-to" RC airbrush sites, and both of these fellows used the Iwata Eclipse. I got one. I love it. It's a superior airbrush. Much finer control (the lever has twice the range of forward/back movement), much easier to clean, much easier to use because I don't have to change the needle unless I want a very wide spray. Which I usually don't, for RC painting.

The Paasche VL I got was a very good deal. A great value. But -- and I already knew this -- you don't try to save money on the tools that make you money. An auto mechanic is the one guy who can tell the difference between a $30.00 Crafstman and a $70.00 Snap-On -- and he's the guy who will pay the difference!

I don't know if that analofy makes sense. But that's my input, given my limited experience.

I went from a Paasche to and Iwata (Eclipse) HP-CS and I absoulty love it. Cuts down painting time, more control, Chicks love it, Cleanup a breeze, It's the one that Mike Lavalle uses...... I got one on friday for 95.00 at my LHS, went to an art fair and picked up another one for 63.00, now I have two!

I'm now selling my Paasche!!! Anybody want to buy it?
