Anyone using 15 or 16th pinions on their boats with the carbon props and stock motors?
I tried the trinity monster wild motors with 13th pinion and burned the armuture up..
But is was faster, I even brush cooled it and it still ruined the brushes...

Go with a Jeti brushless motor.1st- They provide the same power but more torque AND full load RPM as the hottest hand super mods. at much less draw. 2nd-They are completly sealed and maintenance free (brushes..timing ect) 3rd and probably should be 1st. Water cooling is much more effective, because you are cooling the windings directly..i.e (Not through a magnet and then dead air space to get to the rotating armature) Air is the worst way to transfer heat.. With the brushless set up the mags are on the rotor this leaves all the motor windings tight against the case easy for heat transfer witch is a huge advantage for boats with H2O available for cooling.

are you talking about the maxx series motors? if so, thats not uncommon for them. if you burned it up with a 13 tooth pinnion, id check for binding, mesh and bad connections. also whats the stock spur count?

I'm running 12-tooth with x447's and the Monster Maxx motors on 14 cells, GP3300's. Tons of runtime, tons of speed. The stock props are the problem; dull front edge, just not right for the mod motors.
BTW, does anyone know how to remove and replace the shaft/stuffing tube without removing everything from the inside of the boat. Is there an easy way, without complete dissasembly???
Thanks,
