Hi,

I am just getting back in to R/C Cars.

Just bought a New one and got it all built up.

This is a TB-02 Chassis and I purchased a LRP A.I. AUTOMATIC PRO REVERSE DIGITAL ESC

Running with the Standard Motor which is about 36 Turn I believe.

All OK so Far I think, I have had the Car a good 200 feet away with no Problems.

However as soon as I put a Different Motor in it I have huge Problems. Car gets about 40 feet away and loses range/signal and car goes crazy. A then put a Different Motor in but still same Problem.

LRP Website says 11T motor limit (shop told me 13) I am using a 19.
Where could the Problem be?

I have just swapped the Speed controller to a Standard Tamiya one (not sure what it can handle, probably not that high) but I gave it a quick go and with Standard Motor fine, but anything modified it goes crazy as soon as it's a short distance away.

I am thinking it has to be the ESC or the Radio gear.

Anyone's Help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Andy

You may need capacitors on the other motors to reduce electrical noise

Thanks. Could the Positioning of the Receiver/Motor/ESC cause Issues.

I have it like it says in the Manual but they are very Close.

Sorry, but I am new to this, so what is a capacitor, is it the bit that goes across the + and - of the Motor. I have attached a Pic of the layout of the car.

Thanks

The silver can motor in the car already has capacitors inside.
The top photo looks like it already has capacitors onboard.

Generally it will have three.
+ve to can
-ve to can
and +ve to -ve

Generally they are 1uF ( 1 micro farad tantalum capacitor )

If you already have this you could check the comm of the trouble motor.
It may be badly burned causing arcing which creates additional electrical noise. If burned cut the comm and replace the brushes.

Other than this, keep the aerial clear of any metal or c/f and make sure it has no breaks in it.

You could also borrow someone elses receiver to check if it still happens with a different one.

Hope this helps :D

I would also get rid of the tamiya type connectors, relace them with deans or powerpoles as the type you are using dont cope well with current draws of modofied motors.
