I servo taped my reciever down pretty hard, so i tried pulling it loose by pulling the anntena and it snapped! There is about 1/2 inch of wire one both pieces, should I just electrical tape them or should i soder them and then electrical tape them?

Next time pry it out with a flathead screwdriver CAREFULLY.

You should be able to buy some antenna wire at your lhs, and if you do not have one, just look for some 22 gauge wire, and carefully open up your receiver case, and find where the antenna is soldered on. If you feel inadequate at doing this, seek someone who is good at soldering, like, a friend, or someone at your LHS, they usually are happy to help you with something like that, when you buy from them.

My friend just broke his too. I resoldered it and bought some water-proof heat shrink to seal it up. Works just fine.

Dude, what were you thinking !?

No cause for alarm. I have soldered on many antenna wires. In fact, I have like 2 spare Tekin 27 band antenna wires that I bought from them quite a while ago.
The wire is not magic or anything. Just about any stranded (very flexible), small gauge wire wil do (I think it is 24 or 26 gauge, maybe even 28 ?). I would just go to radio shack and see if they have anything similar and just solder on a whole new piece (make sure the length is the same ... length DOES make a difference :p )

Good luck !

there is about 3 inches of extrawire poking out from my antenna tubing, and the break is about three inches on the reciever and 12 inches was dislocated, sodering??? No prob ill do that later. Im planning on getting an XXL reciever soon so why not poke around about in the old Futaba lol.
