OK my Crowd pleazer shell is here... I have thot about colours.schemes awaiting delivery
My own car is a MG ZS, so i decided some kinda tribute to that.. there team touring car colours are like this:
http://mgcf.free.fr/course/virtuel/toca_race_driver/large_toca_mg_zs.jpg
Anyway i thot i didnt want to copy it exactly but use the theme for some inspiration, ...so i came up with this..
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/xpower.jpg
I can get some of the X-Power decals made locally, so i might put 2 or 3 on with 2 or 3 Pro-line decals.
I havent started cutting the shell yet, will be doing that tomoro, i'll try get some hobby-knife action pics :)

Divman, how do you like the ZS? I love MG's even though I'm way on the other side where i see only old A's and midgets.

Hey Scomp
The ZS is really good, my only regret is i got the 120 and not the 180 :( (due to wife and child "restrictions")...however, its a great car, its still pretty quick with the smaller engine, and as for cornering..well.. i get scared before the car does :D.

I suffered a setback, due to a meeting between a goal post and my front left wheel (at high speed) i had a repair to do, I worked on that yesterday, i'm gonne try and get the shell cut tonight, also im still waiting on my masking sheets, but they should be here anytime :)
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/arms.JPG
lower arms broken at diff case, upper mount ripped out from chassis, turnbuckle bust, oh and the wheel now has a fairly large hole in the center
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/wheelbust.JPG
Anyways i took that whole side off last night, and now im waiting on parts which lets me get back to my shell
Updates soon :) .. tonite hopefully

lol, thats all part of the fun no? I had quite a good day, and its a fairly inexpensive repair..
back to the shell.. I got drunk last night and didnt really fancy being incharge of anything with surgically sharp blades :D
So maybe tonight :)

LOL so u stole the decal set from R C X O T I C too :) or was it spazstix, cant remember, but i ripped off from somewhere :)
I still havent done any painting, I have so much other stuff on atm by the time i get any time, i want to do nothing, i had a go at masking off the stripes, this proved more difficult than i thot. ATM im kinda on the verge of changing the design altogether, but i'd still like to keep the same colour scheme.
Just a thought, but theres a saying i heard and it goes...Red and green, should never be seen! Good to see the decal on a body tho...how difficult was it to cut and stick on etc??

Hey Guys
Sorry this took so long, again NON R/C stuff
Well I got a sore head and learned more patience than i ever thot i had!! but i got the stripes masked finally.
Started by finding the centre and using a strip of tape as a guide for the inside mask:
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/stripe1.JPG
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/stripe2.JPG
Once that was in place i cud measure to the outside border, again use some guide line for the mask inside, that gave the stripes that are gonne be white and I just had to fill in the gap (which will be the green)
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/stripe3.JPG
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/stripe4.JPG
This was after several previous attempts, including one complete one when i realised the white mask had to be done first when i had done it last
Still dunno about the sides, any ideas??

ya i really dont like that decal on the side either, you could do the logo of the car or something along those lines
WheelNut

Yeah, do the MG logo on the side, it would suit it much better. Or go with a....erm how would you describe it.....mabye I'll be able to find some pics later....

I thot about the MG logo... looks like this..

i can also get a car window decal, the same which cud possibly be used as a mask (i'm not keen on stickers!). Anyone know if the window decal wud take paint? or if it wud react? that looks like this..

just mask and cut out the design. There's no real complex curves so it should be really easy to cut out of masking. Add a custom touch to it, not some mass produced window crud. It doesn't look that tough to do and will come out 1000% better.

I have since printed the picture of the window decal and had a look at cutting it myself, I reckon i can actually cut it out myself, and as u say perhaps a little custom touch to take away the mass produced look. I thot of adding something onto the long line, like a wave or flame design, not too much, just to break the straight line

Add in a heartbeat line to break up the straight line. ;)

Well its been a while, I'm in the proccess of getting a new job so i been really busy.
Anyway I got the MG design, but in the end i didnt really fancy it, when i started this i only really wanted the colour scheme and not a replica of the design.
So i decided on some kind of pattern for the side, and i was at my LHS for parts today and they had flipside decal sheets..that stick on the INSIDE! Hey presto! I know its cheating a bit, but i used them for masks :) i used the pattern on them so i could hobby knife out some areas of white, it doesnt show so well in the pic (i suck at photography) but u get the general plan, whats removed will be green, and whats left will be white.
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/maskside.JPG
The stripes came out really well, apart from 1 bleed u can see just where the bonnet comes over the front, again like last time ..my bad.. i tried to burnish down all my edges, but i clearly missed that bit out :( I shud be ablle to get it off tho.
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~divman/misc/maskstripe.JPG
I would love to paint the green tonight but its too dark and i have no light in my shed.
More tomoz

Well I got the green on today, I'm still a bit annoyed at 1 or 2 bleeds, but i think i can hobby-knife them off, and its nothing toooo serious.
Just the white to do ( green is flourescent so it will be backing for this as well :) )
