As far as bang for the buck, I would get a Nitro Rustler. I've never had one, but a buddy did, and he beat the crap out of it. Was a great learner truck for him. It was one tough truck.
If you have aspirations of modifiying one, get a AE GT rtr. Good price, but no bearings, and the sus. mounts are kinda cheap.
