Hey, Has any one heard or a Pro Star Typhoon 275 boat? I found one at a Goodwill store. The boat has a single prop with a 540 motor and is 29" long and about 10" wide. I'm fimilar with r/c cars but I have no experence with boats. I have searched the internet for two days with no luck. I can't find anything about this boat. Can anybody shed some light on this boat. Thanks in advance.

Yea, That is exactly what it is. It's called a Pro Star on the box and made by Consistent Superior Precision Model Co. from Taiwan. The boat is in good condition except the previous owner left the receiver batteries in the boat and they leaked all over the electronics. The acid ate through most of the wires. I have already rewired it and replaced the motor with a stock 27 turn I had on hand just to test it but the stock mechanical speed control took a beating from the acid. Any suggestions on a good ESC for this boat?

looks like you should be able to 'shoehorn' most anything in there :) that said I have no idea on who makes a 'good' unit. would suggest one that can a) be water cooled b)handle a 20t motor(mayhap a speed 600) just to leave you wiggle room for upgrades to the motor.

The BEST ESCs for brushed motors are made by RC-Hydros. They are watercooled and waterproof. They are almost grenade-proof too, not cheap but they will not let you down.

Rats the bad news is it wont takle a lot of power
Just put ina 700 NEOX and 12 cells and use an y535 if running submerged prop or X447 if using surface drive. RC-Hydros gets my vote too.
