I am looking for info. I want to make a tube chassis for a stampede. What will I need? Where can I get the tube? what holds it together? The tube at my LHS is brass and just seems to weak. Please give me some direction. Thanks

You can use brass tubing and solder it together

it will be stronger when you put it together because the tube will be shorter and reinforced

You have to weld, not solder it together.

Silver solder will do, and you can use a soldering iron.
To smooth out the joints, you can heat the solder with a butane torch..this will smooth out any irregularities in the joints.
One of Kevin's recet 4x4 articles covered this. May have been Jan-feb issue.

Well, welding would be much stronger holding the bars together than solder.

Just solder the brass. It holds up great. I've seen some people epoxy the tubes together, and if you design the chassis right, it's hard as a rock.
even if you did weeld you wouldnt because you braise that kind of stuff together
