Anyone ever modified a servo to make it quicker, more durable etc ? Specifically a Futaba S3003 are there any metal gear trains available for this? I only ask because I have half a dozen or so laying around, so I figure why not mess with a couple.

Its best just to get a high quality servo from JR, Futaba, Hitec or Airtronics. Get the best you can afford. Until you drive a car with faster servos you can't guess how much it makes a car quicker. For a truck get at least 60 oz of torque and for a buggy at least 50 oz. Get the fastest one you can get with enough torque.

team crash, you can go to towerhobbies.com and buy hi-tec replacement gears that are metal, they may fit in a fubabtu servo, but i dunno.
