Well I work nights and often find myself painting at these early morning hours. As a result I have to make sure that my compressor is full of air and that I don't disturb sleeping beauty in the process (my wife). This is difficult becuase I like to use a hair dryer to speed up the painting process. I normally spray a color then dry the color; so there are times where all you here coming out of my room is spray,blow,spray,blow,spray... and so on.
Well tonight i was painting and while I was waiting for my paint to dry on its own I came up with a brilliant idea that actually works. A space heater. I wasn't sure if this was going to work or not but I wanted to paint faster so I tried it. Here's a pic of my setup

this setup works really well... I have the heater set at high and it heats up nice and evenly. I left the body on there for 10min, and it didn't melt or warp out of shape ( this was one of my concerns), and because I can keep my body on it while i'm painting it's much faster than the blow dryer routine that i was previously doing. The body dries soo fast that it's super sweet. where you can see that i'm currently working in on a rc18t 2.0 crowd pleazer, and it fits perfectly

Very cool tip,
When I started doing the mini bodies I washed 3 of them at once, applied window masks, and started the LM. I used a similar system to dry the mask between coats, never entered my brain to use it to dry the paint.
I am using a different heater though, older electric coil type w/fan and I set the bodies about a foot AWAY and UP from the front of the heater. I do have to be carefull of the heater though, the cord gets VERY warm. Never leave it un-attended while in use.
Thanks again

i used to use LM but have found that on the mini bodies a lot of it goes to waste. I use tape and it does the job better if not perfect. I like LM but the way i paint it actually hinders my style.
Definitely DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HEATER UNATTENDED WITH A BODY LAYING ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed the waste on the last body I did, I will try a combination of tape and LM on the next one.
Interested to see the finished product of the body you used for reference in those pics.

Well --LOL-- I was hoping no one would ask to see it yet. But here's the problem when painting at nights: I had a partially full air compressor and by the time I got to doing some shadowing I ran out of air. So, since the compressor makes tooo much noise I'm held off from finishing the body till morning. I thought I would have had enough air but I didn't soo that was my fault for not making sure that the compressor was full. I'll post pics in the morning. I just need to spray 3 more colors and i'm done.

Darn it,
You can move the compressor outside build a box over it and then pipe air into you paint room. There problem solved. ;)
I'll be checking back in the A.M.
