Hey everyone, has anyone every noticed that a lot of people are into rc as well as paint ball? I can't think of really any correlation except for competition. Anyone have any ideas? I couldn't get one person into rc cuz they were buying paintball sruff instead. Anyways thanks!

well speaking of that, my mother picked up a cheape paint ball gun, a vulcan 5000. probibly really cheap, she got it for $7 new at auction, im to scared to get shot by one so ill just shoot something in my back yard. for some reason it shots more then one at a time, but its a cheape so im not expecting the best,

I think I know the correlation:

It is a matter of physics. You see, when a paint ball is projected it follows a certain parabolic arc from its point of origin until all its energy is expended. The less it travels horizontally, the more it travels vertically. Well, it is the same thing when an R/C car uses its energy in forward acceleration combined with an angle of projection from a jump.

Yes, I believe that is it. Yes, that is it.

Actually Servant,

The sheer necessity of lateral force required to project the spherical discharge unit with the work load expended on the trigger of the lateral force applicator (paintball gun) has a direct coralation with the simplistic work load of operating the frequency lateral force applicator (radio) to create lateral force needed to mobilize the R/C Car. Both of which result in massive acceleration as both momentum and velocity increases dramatically over the span of mere seconds.

This is why there is a corelation.

Actually, I prefer Airsoft over paintball since the 6mm plastic BBs don't splash paint all over everything... too bad I don't know anyone around here who does the same. :(

wal mart has a bb gun thats 15 bucks!!! its a pistol but heavy as a brick i really wanna get it but put it this way my dad wont even let me have a cap gun ( i live in vallejo cops shoot to kill if they see a gun ..... one kid got killed for carrying a 3 musketeers candybar it was mistaken for a gun the cop didnt say nuthin just fired away)

That BB gun is probably the same one that comes in a dart board kit, I used to have it, and was shot in the back with it, didn't even hurt (from 5 feet away). If you think your dad would be mad if you had one of those, he would probably die if you had one of these www.airsoftatlanta.com (http://www.airsoftatlanta.com) Hehe... But depending on your neighborhood, R/C cars might be a lot safer.

I spent 10 years playing paintball, then the whole attitude of the sport seemed to change, I can't stand it. THe idea of intentionally shooting a player pointblank in the face just so you can brag that you "bunkered" him is wrong. RC is much cheaper (and safer), and the people at the track are much nicer than the people at the paintball feilds. To me, it is all about fun, RC is fun. If it ever stops being fun, I'll get out of it. Paintball used to be real fun. Now I can't stand the idea of stepping in a paintball shop with out having to deck someone. Argh... Anyone wanna by some paintball gear?

I've been doing both paintball and Rc are great i've been paintballin since 1998 and be into rc since 2000 it don't go hand in hand but they are both great. and alot of fun but but cost money but then again almost everything nowa days does it seem the more people like it the more money they have to pay to do it. I think some companies just want us all to sit at home and twiddle our thumbs....lol :D :D :D :D

DJ,
I did fidle with that theory, but then my mind began to focus more on offroad. I must say that I believe you really reached down deep and gripped the heart and soul of both hobbies. Kudos! :D

the most expensive thing about getting into paintball is the paintballs themselves.. you can get a good semi-auto setup for about $249.99 (the price of a good RC kit).. but the paint costs ya 50 to 70 bucks a box.. and if you have a itchy trigger finger.. you can spend a 100 bucks in paint in a full day.. (like some of my friends).. if you play conservative you can probably go thru 4 hoppers in a day.. bout 800 paint balls.. or 20 to 30 bucks..

now if you play compettion level.. the price goes WAY up.. you can launch 3 or 4 boxes a day.. and spend well over a grand on yer marker (gun).. but look at RC... i've seen people put 2 grand into a T-maxx.. so.. you go crazy either way..

also.. being hit by paintballs doesn't really hurt.. when yer playing yer more mad about being "out" then about any pain.. i used to play in a tee-shirt and shorts.. (i'm stupid).. but i don't recommend it.. raw skin and paintballs don't mix.. :)

btw.. i'm thinking about selling my gear since we lost are field.. got a full mask with visor, a tippmann pro-lite with a rifled Armson 16" barrell, a standard tank, and the stocker barrell.. any interested.. will trade (sorry bout it being here in the forum.. but the thought just hit me :) :) )

if yer interested in paintball here's a cheap plug for who i bought my gear from www.paintballonline.com (http://www.paintballonline.com) great service.. and great prices

Both are very expensive. i have been in both hobbies for about 6 years and have probably 2-3 thousand dollars in each hobby. But it is well worth the money both are extremely fun and competitive.

well i have been playing paintball 5 years at a high level. I started out with a model 98 then i went to a autococker, then a angel. Over all i loved my model 98. So i bought a model 98 tricked it out and now i play with angels and cockers and beat them.

I think the things in rc and paintball that are the same probably are the thrill of winning races and in paintball the thrill of taggin your opponent. Also there both expensive but paintball is more expensive. But the most thing in common is the skill of each hobby. In paintball the level of skill you play at will win you the game. You can have the best gun and yet **** and you will loose to a seasoned players with a talon. So both hobbys are great but i am been playing paintball longer than rc but still each of them have there ups! :D

How about cominding RC AND paintball? I have seen a few of those RC boat wars around here, but I think RC cars with mounted markers would be sweet. Ah haha imagine a RC w/paint marker in a real game that would be sweet.

I used to play paintball. It was great fun. Then it all changed and people started taking it TOO seriously-- instead of playing just for fun, people would go all out to win and get VERY angry and frustrated when they lost, instead of just going out to have fun. That's what ruined it for me-- I was taking my gear off after a match (we had won), and one of the sore losers from the other team nailed me in the forehead with a paintball he had been storing in his icechest, from a distance of about 10 feet. (I'm VERY lucky it didn't hit my eye, I probably would have lost it.) I won't go into the specifics of what happened next, but let's just say he was lying on the ground for a while after I stopped seeing stars  Last game I ever played.

I wish the attitudes of the players didn't change for the worse, I had a lot of great times playing paintball. Oh well, instead of playing with paintball guns, I now play with real guns... Bad choice. Just as addictive, but 10 times more expensive. (You don't need safes for your paintball guns and paint.)Ammo for my Remington 700 .338 Ultra Mag is $50... for a box of 20 rounds! A we bit more expensive than paint.
