The Ultimate buggy would be a better choice for a high power/racing situation but for play the BX would do fine.

yea gubbs is correct, the bx is kinda small and sluggish but you have a garenty for parts breakage. i think u should get whatever you want bro. i ask the same kinds of questions at the track and thats the best response. GET WHAT YOU WANT!

good luck,
Drew

ok the type r only comes with bb bearing and proshocks. that only difference between the sport and the type r.

Andrew, The Duratrax BX is more of a back yard basher, it doesn't look bad, but from what i've seem it's not really race worthy.
The Kyosho RB even in RTR form looks more like a racer. Of the 2 I think the Kyosho would be the better buy. I'm with you though, wait for a RB Type-R GP Version to come out, then you'll know your getting a full blown racer.

NTRacinGuy, look at the <a href="http://www3.autodesk.com/adsk/section/0,,137557-123112,00.html">specs </a>on the sport:

*aluminum chassis
*Camber Tie Rods: Fixed non-adjustable
*Steering Tie Rods: Fixed non-adjustable
*Wheels: White 1-piece, 6-spoke racing wheels with hex drive.
*Gearbox: Rear, closed

The RB Type R has a plastic tub chassis, adjustable tie rods, and no hex drive wheels, and a gearbox from TR-Pro that you can open. I think you meant that this RB Sport is like the ST Sport. Those are similar and share most parts.

Andrew,
hey man, nothing said in your post that you didnt want a 1/8th buggy. i was just tryin' to help you out and just recommended a 1/8th. and i have been into R/C for about a year and i'm not a newbie. i know quite a bit about R/C. i was just seeing what you would think about a 1/8th scale. so please dont call me a newbie. thanks.

well sorry, but as far as 1/8 goes, if you cant afford a decent buggy like one from TTR, kyosho, or mugen then you just get a 400 dollar basher.

Just remember the Ultima GP buggy is not based on the Ultima EP buggy (type R) or the Ultima GP truck (also type R). The other 2 (type R's) are more race ready. I think the name they give it is GP Ultima RB sport. They make an EP version too called Sport and it's very different from the type R. For example it comes with a MSC instead of ESC.

1. i was asking because one of my local tracks will let me race my buggy with the nitro trucks and i wasnt sure what was better for racing

2. im not gonna buy the buggy right now. im gonna wait until the type R version comes out

well if you want a nitro buggy look into something like an OFNA ultra MBX R2. it is 4WD with a 3 way diff. front and rear pivot balls, full ball bearings, and some include a padded case. there are lots of good racing and bahs nitro buggies out there. and it depends on what you want to do, just bash and play around, or race em'.
