Heres my suggestion: Ask them that if you read another 20 on top of that(in the next month) that they buy you the .21 conversion for the tmaxx, and a .21. If they dont go for that, just get the most expensive mt out there!ok, so thats not a good idea... I'm thinking tmaxx, but the emaxx is a little bit cheaper, and can match the t's speed. Oh I dont know, use ini-mity-mity-mo! hahaha, do you guys remember doing that?

I think you should go with the T-Maxx. Look at all the hop ups there is for it. Yeah the E-Maxx has the same hop-ups but can you drive it for an hour like you can the T-Maxx. If you are looking for a racer you might want to get something else but you can set the T-Maxx up for racing. IE lowwer it, put the .21 conversion on it, get the offset wheels on to it to lower the center of gravity. Just to name a few. Got to go . Latter

I had to make this exact same decision. Yesterday I ordered a T-Maxx. The T was actually cheaper than the E, for me anyway. I wanted to buy 4 Maxx Paxx for the E so that really added to the cost. The T came out about 150 bucks cheaper!
Remember Nitro takes patience. You must be willing to learn from experienced people and not get frustrated when it won't run. You must also be willing to take the time need to keep the T clean. The other Nitro vehicle I've owned, a Kyosho Dodge Ram, got extremely filthy all the time!
As far as the Duratrax starter pack, you may not need it, but I'm not sure whats in it. This is what I ordered to go with my T. A cheapo battery, the cheapest charger I could find, some CA glue, some foam rubber, after run oil, a extra glow plug, and two quarts of 20% Nitro fuel. The battery and charger are for the electric starter. My total was about 450. I got it at Tower, so I got 15 bucks off because of a special their running, and Stomer had it listed at 389 so Tower matched that, another $10.
In the end you have to decide what you are going to like better. One thing is for sure you will not be disapointed with either one.
Have fun

Oh and your gonna come out WAY ahead on your deal compared to me. To get my T, I promised the wife I would, add another room to the house, buy new carpet and tile, repaint the inside and outside, and remodel the kitchen. But that will all be fun too, well except spending good RC dollars on carpet.

ATEAM... that is soooooo funny. I had to do the same thing. My wife went to Bebe (a very expensive store) and spent $800...
then I could purchase my T... what's up with that... I could have had two maxxes LOL :D
We are both happy though...

Yeah but what I didn't tell the wife is that until we get new carpet I get to run the the T inside. :D

Ateam, how do you do it? I'm trying to convince my wife to let me get another car (either RS4 rally or Schumacher 4wd buggy).

Outside its easy, I simply put my foot down. But it sure did hurt when she stomped on it!

TC3Racer, I got the Duratrax starter pack when I first started nitro. I think it was around $30 and it came with a quart of 10% Red Alert fuel, one wrench (for glow plugs...), a rechargable glow plug starter, an OS A3 glow plug, and it seemed like there was something else but I could be wrong. Check Tower's site you could find it there.

If they said you can get any MT you want then get an 1/8 scale such as a Monster Pirate or push it and try for a USA-1 Nitro Crusher except get it w/o the engine and slap an O.S. .21 in it. That's what I want to do. Even though parts may be scarce at the LHS ordering them is pretty fast, because half the time the LHS doesn't have parts for my Traxxas car. Go big.

Did you tell them that your parents are going to be spending about $400? I wonder...
