Brooklyn Raceway is opening!!!!!!!

people in brooklyn are getting togeter to build a raceway and a dirt track with monstor hills for the buggys.I know one of the people and they told me they are going to make a dirt track with big hills and monstorus hits.Also the track is going to be HUGE!!!! They will also combine a dirt track into a asphalt togeter I can't wait for it too be open!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this going to be a hobby shop run kinda thing? Because if it is, I'll definitely go. It's kinda far, but if it's legit like that, where I can buy parts and stuff if need be, I'd go

Yeah they are going to make the hobby shop aside from the tracks also they informed me that they were making a super track with sprinkliers dirt and mud also there are going to be holes where your car will fall in!!!! Its going to be like a battle track!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm, I dunno if I'm up for a "battle" battle track. That seems a bit unnecessary to me. Not really worth the possibility to break more parts than you already can. That'll get kind of expensive. Does this place have a website or something?

Nope not yet but the "battle" track will be only for the monstor trucks and the
hobby shop will give the monstor trucks diffrent bodys to lend not keep.!!

I don't mind beating up my body so much. Those are fairly inexpensive and don't take terribly long to paint as long as you don't do something terribly complex. But they should definitely give out some free parts to put up with the extra buse the trucks are gonna be taking :cool:
Do you know if there is going to be a "normal" off-road track as well? Where are you getting all your info from?

Yes they will have a normal track also most of the tracks is halfway done!!!

You should go out there and take some pictures next time. It'd be awesome to see the progress and what it's eventually going to look like. Too bad by the time they finish off-road season is going to be pretty much done

yeah i know but still they will have an indoor offroad track so you can come in and the completion of the whole project will be done by november. Hey mikewz do you know of any knid of car that goes by the name of "Himoto".

I can't say that I've ever heard of it. Closest to that I know of is Hiroto, but that's a sponsor for a JGTC Skyline.
Is the indoor off-road track electric only? Because if it is, I won't get any use of that personally. Not really an electric fan myself. Can't stand not hearing anything but a soft "whirrrr"

The indoor track will consist of electric and gas powered cars so its alright and by the way the car name is saleen do you know about that car also just out of curisty how old are you.

Saleen is a company that builds "Full-scale" cars. However, they have a few different models offered, the best of all being the Twin Turbo Saleen S7.
Glad to hear that the indoor track will run nitro. I'll have to pick up another Stadium truck then so I can head over there

Yeah, I'm gonna get a Stadium truck for the indoor track, and I'm going to be getting a 1/10 on-road sometime before the spring/summer season starts. Going to be racing with www.frracers.com

Sorry to butt in here. But the "Saleen" body that comes with the Hong Kong made Himoto Nitro TC looks like a very cheap knock off of the S7 body. It doesn't look quite correct.

One has to wonder if that company has permission to use the Saleen name on that body. HPI is the only company I know of that makes a 1/10th scale S7 body that looks correct and they have permission from Saleen to use the likeness and name. Hey when you make the Fastest Production Car in the World your bound to be picky on who gets to use the name on other products.

BTW, I love the way that site (http://www.exportpro.biz/index.php?page=0&accessories=car_body&type=CAR%201:10&pg=1) markets their car bodies.

Lol, that is really funny. But he's young and it's probably his first car, so hey can't complain. It's a car right?
But yeah that body doesn't look right the front is really what looks off, and the proportions of the back are off too.

Actually no, I'm a West coast person, CA and AZ(ROAR Region 12).
That Himoto TC chassis actually is rather competetive. Knew a guy in Ontario CA that has one. That was before relocating out here to AZ recently. It's rather tunable and if I remember right some Tamiya suspension parts fit it. Problem with it was finding parts for it.
Just so no misunderstanding, I wasn't bagging on you choice of chassis. I think it's great when I see younger people get involved with this hobby. It's just that body... yikes. Being a big big Saleen fan it almost pains me to see the name slightly sullied like that. Don't mind me I'm just being nit picky. :p

I'm mostly Electric myself, I do have a Factory Team NTC3 chassis lying around somewhere that I never finished. Still needs radio gear and an Engine. One of these days I'll drop some cash on it heheh.

There is an offroad track at Gun Hill RD in the Bronx. That seems to be the only one in that area that's running offroad. www.queensunitedrc.com also does some onroad and offroad bashing/racing. Join up on their site for more info. For Gun Hill, you'd have to swing by there to see the action. There's no site or other info available for it. I plan on going to Floyd Bennett field in the spring and or Bridgeport which is now the official 06 ROAR track.

What part of Gun Hill Road?.....Gun Hill Road runs somewhat of a long way.
-If it`s over by the Hutchinson River Parkway/Bruckner Blvd.....I`ve heard about it. It`s Crazy Wild at that Track.....Ha Ha!(Wild Wild West.....Ha Ha!)

Guy-Go to that link in my last post. They tend to run sometimes in queens, bronx, and travel to some tracks. Floyd is in Brooklyn, NY...a little further up from Kings Plaza. Toys R US is across the street from it. I think that section may be where the track is for Offroad. Never been there, but heard it's lots of fun. :)

That's where Floyd Bennett is. :) It's right next to that building. As for the Offroad track the debate is on. They need a sufficient amount of racers before it's going to be done. Also, they are finding out whether or not FB will be relocated.

I'm in, and so is all my buddies on SI. Sabbs if you know the people setting everything up tell them there are people on SI that are willing to contribute to the cause. There are alot of people here desperate for a good offroad track.

I`ve heard about United R.C. in Queens. I think they set-up in Cunningham Park.....? I`ve heard they don`t run Electric Onroad out there.
