Now $5-$10 a day and race days $10 -$15. Why the extra money on race day  ? Iam new at this so you have to bear with me. :(

There are no tracks around here so i am very uneducated with the whole track thing setting up races ,why it cost more on race day? Diffedrent classes and all that stuff.
i own a ice cream stand and take out and i am building it there?
so that means i have power.(electricity)
also means there will be lots of spectators which will mean more people getting into offroad buggys. so could someont take the time and educate me in the sport? Tell me all what you can.As far as the construction of the track goes im ok.its all the other stuff
Thanks for your time Everyone

race day you will have to have someone keeping track of the race. have you considered how much the AMB scoring system costs. are you going to have a store to buy parts ? if you draw in 50 to 75 people on a race day, how are you going to keep track of all the lap times for qualifying and also time the race. actually for me $10.00 is even cheap for all day practice. i cant go anywhere else for $10.00 and have fun all day. :)

There is a higher price on race day, because it is required for a person to be at the track running the timing system. Also, you are paying for the equiptment which times the laps. These systems(most popular being the AMB), cost in the thousands. The standard price (in my area) is about $15 for race day. For practice, some places are free, and some charge a fee of anywhere from $5-10.

Dont forget if you track has trophys or ribbons or some other kind of prizes.
It's not cheap running a track with labor, maintenance, rent and insurance.

It is like any business, you have to charge something in order to cover your expenses while hoping to make a profit.
In running a shop or race track there are a number of expenses that have to be covered by the number of racers you can hope to bring in on race day(s) if you don't meet that expected number you may be forced to close. You may see race fees for as little as $5 to as much as $20 for weekly races.

Were I race on-road currently he charges $3 to race and $2 to practice. However it's a small hobby shop. He'll tell you that the fees don't even come close to paying for the equipment or time involved. But he does it because he likes to race and to keep customers coming back again and again. The place I race off-road is $5.00 practice, $10 on race day. Big events(roar region 5) charge I think around $50. If your planning on getting a timing system,(especially AMB) I would say run the track like the Off-road place does. With out a timing system, like the on-road. Just remember that you'll need lap counters who actually pay attention to the race, to make the racing fair and fun. Just remember the most important thing about a track, keep it challengeing but fun. You'll do fine.

One last thing I I'm a track official at the on-road track if you want a little more info on classes which type of timing system we use etc. Just P.M. me.

here one track is a parkinglot track every other sunday and its $10 cdn for a whole race day but you dont really get to run that much...nice track and all but not enough on track time.
Another track thats here is open friday night, all day saturday and race sunday. Fri is $13, Sat is $13 and Sunday is $18 cdn for racing but you get sooo much track time and race time.
Unfortunatly there are only 2 more races left in the season and then time to rebuild and upgrade for next year.
