My friend was talking about an r/c he has, and said it's real fun, in geat condition except for low tread on the tires, and he said a guy at a hobby shop told him that it was a "Grasshopper". The hobby guy told him he could sell it for around $200.00. My neighbor also had one and a hobby shop told him it was a special truck. Why are they so special, and how much could you sell one for that's in good-condition?

$200.00 for everything, including radio, batteries w/ charger and servoes wouldnt be too bad i guess. $200.00 for just the grasshopper is ludicrous! also, a grasshopper is a offroad buggy not a truck. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif Zed

To add to what Zedster said the grasshopper is just a tuned down Hornet. Grasshoppers have RS380 motors and Hornets have RS540 motors. My Hornet has been a Ton O Fun since '91. It is an indestructable and completely entry level basher.

Grasshoppers aren't worth squat for their performance nowadays, people want them for other reasons. Nostalgia is the main one, and it's also why original RC10s are selling on ebay for $400+. Guys have fond memories of their first R/C car that they did everything with. Now that their cars are gone, they want one again just to remember the "good old days" or whatever. You get the picture...your best bet is to sell it to a sappy old-timer (R/C-wise, at least) who's looking for an old friend. If it pulls on his heart strings enough, you just might make bank off of him...

For $200 I would go to Ebay and get a really good used car. You can find some great deals there. I found a Schumacher SST with Radio, ESC and battery for $175.

I have a hornet, very resurectable, but it really is not worth it, and neither is this, a grass hopper can in no way pull for 200$

The 'hopper was my 1st rc in 1985, I'd pay $100 for one in good condition for nostalgia reasons.
