I prefer FM radio's over any AM radio. But there is one downfall, price. The price of FM radios is pretty expensive compared to the AM ones, but the FM ones have more features. They also glytch a LOT less than AM too. The "best" model is all in your choice. Some people prefer different ones by the way they feel and even look. Hitec makes a GREAT Lynx 3D and can have the spectra model on it so you never have to change transmitter crystals, not to mention a large screen and a lot of features. Futaba makes a very expensive one, but also has tons of features. JR makes good ones too, the JR XR3 is a cheap FM, but better than any AM radio, with all the features you technically need ($160 give or take), they also make a JR R1, which is a very good radio. Airtronics his its top of the line radio too called the M8, it won many Readers Choice Awards for best radio, and has a lot of features and a big screen. KO Propo (K.O. Proportional) has very good, but VERY expensive radios like the Mars. It all depends on what you like, and can afford. And FM is better than AM, and come with more features usually. Theyre all good, and you really cant go wrong if you get a computer FM. Go to www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com) or www.horizonhobbies.com (http://www.horizonhobbies.com) for the radios. (JR is only sold by horizon, they own them).

There are 3 channels and a battery slot if thats what your talking about, or 2 channels and a battery slot. The first and second channel are for the steering and throttle servos, the third can be used for maybe a shifter (like the T-Maxx, E-Maxx, and many on-road cars). The "batt" slot is for the external battery that gas cars use to power the servos.

Need anymore info? Just ask.

The best overall feature of FM is the glitch security, they are much more resistant in that category. And if all you want is that, a low priced Hitec Lynx or Futaba Magnum FM version would be the way to go. I have a Futaba for my NXT and it works great, sure, bells and whistles are nice but it's not in my budget and I don't really need it for one Nitro Car.

I remember that one of the futaba radios have three channels so it can be used for more vehicles or something like that. Also, what is the best 3 channel FM radio, that can hold a few different models, does not have lots of extra junk and is relatively low priced. :D Like I don't want any PCM ones. They have lots of stuff that I think I wont use.

Why do people keep saying that the Ko Propo EX-1 Mars is a VERY expensive radio, when in fact, its cheaper than BOTH Airtronics, and Futabas top of the line radios?
