This may be interesting, might get old too as it seems I am breaking / destroying something frequently. Is it just me? maybe I need a break.
Today's was the E-maxx , I hit a RR tie with the front wheel going pretty fast and broke a skid, bulkhead, chassis bolts, maybe a hinge pin or more.
Twin detonator jumped and lost a suspension pivot bolt and then lost a dogbone, one of my good heavy ones, lucky I found it and is a easy fix.
The E maxx is still setting,,,,

the entire time i have driven RC cars i have only lost a few e-clips, broke a few body posts, bent 1 aluminum shock tower and cracked a lexan body. Ive never actually broken anything. i guess i'm just lucky...

Wow. I really feel bad now, upon closer look at my e-maxx It also has two broken a-arms another broken bulkhead.
Nice run on my TD though. Nice run with my evst too, no breakage, yeah , I didn't hit anything either. go figure.

nah, don't feel so bad. my friend broke my RC cars lots of times! i need to learn to NOT let him drive... the last time he drove it he didn't realise it didn't have reverse and wedged it under a front tired of a car... busted the front of the body and the shock tower, both body posts, and now the front end is out of whack...

Last thing I did was bend 2 shocks and bust a lower arm on my S-maxx by hitting a drain pipe. I thought it would be totally messed up with the way I hit it, but I got lucky.
And of course I'm not the kind of guy to stop after you break something, so I did some more driving with 3 wheels :D

i don't mean to flame anyone, but how can you honestly expect to hit a hard/heavy object going fast and not break something? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54/speed_bump/smiles/scratchhead.gif "upgrading" to alluminum parts is not a solution either IMO. when plastic parts break, it's only a couple things that break. the rest of the truck is fine. when a truck with lots of alluminum hits something, instead of just an a-arm breaking, the a-arm bends which cracks the bulkhead which twists the chassis, etc. when you start dumping all these alluminum parts on the truck, not only does it make the truck heavier and slower, it greatly increases the complexity and cost of repair if you do have another major wreck. IMO, keep the stock stuff and either go somewhere more open (less posts and RR ties to hit) or slow down a tad so you can process the surrounding a little more and react in time to avoid stuff.

I break stuff every 6 runs I'd say. Don't feel bad, it happens, it just means your getting your moneys worth. Sometimes it's actually cool to see one break. Like my bros Evader ST on crack (It's no longer got like anything stock). He jumped it, hit the brakes in the wrong place, then the thing proceeded to land on a rear wheel, sorta upside down cockeyed, hard to explain, but it broke the rear a arm and be 3 hinge pins on the truck, after a 30 ft cartweel of evader death. It was interesting to say the least. Then again when I ran my B3 into a curb WOT it was not at all funny, it just stopped, no flying or explosion of plastic pieces, just a pile of broken crap in my front end, virtually all of it that is. If you had this problem with a real car I'd be concerned, but depending on how you drive your RC, you'll probably break stuff, lots of stuff. It comes with the territory for most of us, unlike Tyrael1986. Man you must be really lucky or never push your car/truck at all.

Finaly finished our little gheto track and started racing on it, broke a tooth off of the idler gear in the RC10t Stealth.
Neighbor is coming up this weekend to play, figure we will break some other things before the weekend is over.

Like constantly stripping the spur on a T-maxx with perfect mesh. It's ok... I sent that truck to hell. The only problem I ever had with my GT was losing e-clips. Other than that nothing. Now we shall see about my Storm. It should be here monday... so I'l know what I break by Tuesday. :-)

Breakage sucks a lot. I haven't broke anything on my losi in a while. The maxx is still not working. What a pain to run that thing.
One tip is try not to hit stuff i guess. I hit big rocks and curbs with the losi but nothing breaks. Have fun...

I never hit anything with the GT... but then again the FT RC10GT is nimble like a cat so I guess that helped. I slammed the T-maxx into many a fence post during it's life... heck a few full fences too. It was just finicky and would randomly say "Ok... batteries dead... WOT!!"
disclaimer: buy a failsafe
Of all the things I have lost or broken, I will say the LOSI brand gives me the most trouble.
All the Associated stuff is built like a military tank. I never broke a single part on my RC10, RC10T, and RC10GT, and I have looked around at the comments and most people feel the same way.
Also, my Revo has never broken a part on impact either.
On a LOSI, if it can go wrong - it will.

i guess your entitled to your own opinion, but i have had a losi xxx-t for over 2 years, and after 2 years of vigorous bashing and racing i have broken 2 a-arms, a kickplate and bulkhead, and lost some motor screws. I also shatered a motor magnet which would have happened to any motor that you jump out of a half pipe. I think losi's are awesome

I used to race a car called a "Super GT" (Basically an unlimited 1/10 electric TC), and i would always get real high out of the sweaper, clip the wall, spin back down the track, and some how, my little brother always found my car. I used to let off and take the corner, then i realized its less of a hastle and i can actually finish the race.

Well I only have a XXX-t but it is absolutely bulletproof. I've never had a problem with it or broke anything but the front and rear steering blocks and they just stretched to the point of breaking. I never raced it and only bashed it with mild jumping but alot of hard hits. I had some problems with my diff on higher power brushless systems, but Im talking 4s lipo's a.k.a. complete overkill!
I also only have one AE vehicle a TC3. I love this car also. I havent broke anything on it yet except for the left front dogbone (but they are the stock plastic and I am running a 3s lipo and 7S Feigao brushless motor), it snapped like a twig.
My ultimate basher is my beloved HPI MT2 that I converted to brushless. I have beat this thing to death and only broke a front c-clip that holds the front wheel on (after careening it across the street into my neighbors yard). i am having some problems with their poorly designed front axels popping out under power, but I'll have that cleared up tomorrow after a little shimming. I've gotten to the point now that I just take the truck out to try to break something. HPI's plastic is very flexible and absorbs impacts flawlessly.

I am still on my original too. I have owned my tmaxx for 2 years, 4 months now :D

try taking your full size car out and subject to 1/4 the abuse you give your r/c,,,,,,see what breaks!!!! ...pretty sure the first time you attempt 60 feet of vertical air with the ranger, it aint gonna be pretty!!!!!!!!
come on guys, you beat the dog-snot out of something, its gonna fail. i know thati have broken my share of things too, for two reasons: 1. driving like a complete tool,.2. driving like a complete tool.
manufacters do screw up, and sometimes we get "bad" parts, but mostly, after we break something, the first thought is " ooooooooooh, shouldnt have tried to do that".....

Yes, that is very frustrating. I usually am very patient with stock parts (I will replace them multiple times b-4 upgrading) A crash is my fault and expected to do damage, but you are right, I have spur gear on my twin force and delphi indy that repeatedly gets stripped. They are both shelved .
Depends too on how much you bash, there's some days when I can run all my vehicles back to back.

e-maxx skids and bulks are notorious for breaking. breaking a hinge pin would be quite a feet- bending one wouldnt be too hard though. its not you dont worry.

i like breaking things it shows whats weak in the car. :p my rs4 3 barely breaks anything once i upgraded to al front uprights and hardend diff. the mini t well thats another story when im outside i brake nothing. then when inside i always crack the thing in half i try to contol my self and say dont go wot when inside. i always end up slamming into a wall.
I've gotten to the point now that I just take the truck out to try to break something.
I do the same to the savage. i go outside trying to break something never can.i either end up running out of fuel or it gets to dark.only thing that has broken is a spur that was totally my fault ALWAYS CHECK FOR MESHING. lucky i had a spare spur in the tool box. :D

I've only broken my old Inferno once. I forgot to turn on the radio when I was out bashing with Crank Throw Wei(some of you might remember him), and my buggy took off at WOT into a large cement curb(it topped out at about 45MPH back then). One bent shock shaft and one snapped lower arm later, it was all over. I was quite impressed with how durable all that old plastic was(it was an MP-5, and was probably going on roughly 7 years old).
I've broken the Mini-T too many times. Right now it is broken in half. The worst part is that the steering works better with it snapped than when it's whole :p
The LST on;y has two scratches right now from when I reset the brakes, and forgot to adjust them back down. I tapped the brakes, and it was rubber side up
Now I just have to get RHCSavage21 on here to tell the story of his Kyosho Ultima RB....

Actually, well this isn't a crash at all, but I was driving my TC3 one day, it had a D5 7T and that thing was screming like crazy. I was driving from right to left and there was a really small dog (perhaps a weiner dog or something, a foot long) on my left side that I didn't really see, and as the car zooms by, the saw the dog at the final second, and I instantly mashed the full brakes, and there was a foot gap between the dog and my car (full speed->0) ......Hahaha and I swear to god I have never in my life seen a dog jump so high.......

I raced my Tmaxx once in the TMaxx Class at the local outdoor dirt track. Reciever batteries starting going down, so steering and brakes were going out, too...caught the back wall due to sluggish controls. Cost me 2 suspension arms, a bent tie rod (that is still on the truck to this day - over a year later) 2 shocks, a bulkhead, and I think maybe a skid plate...cant remember. I limped the truck around to the pit area where it died. Highly embarassing. Packed up and left...

When mt buddies and I go out bashing, one, two, or all of us break something. Most of the time it's from driver error, or trying to do the impossible. We bash almost as hard as those SlapMaFro guys. We also like to play tag. And sometimes that get out of hand. The last thing I broke was 4 pins for my cva's on my MGT. That same day, I smashed into my buddies FG Monster Beetle and busted a wheel, tore the tire and bent a ball end screw. (Does any one have a FG MB tire & wheel for sale?). It's all in fun. We don't get mad when we break, we just fix.

I was jumping my Evader off a six foot drop with a 6 inch kicker, getting about 8 feet of air. And my landings sucked, due to off camber kick. Well, after me and my freind are done bashing, i dropped my Evader from 6 inches and snapped the reapivot block. Whoops. I also rolled it hard and broke my ESC case and my motor guard, as well as a screw that held the motor in, and a motor lead. No chassis damage. Hmmm.

i have a xxx-nt and it does not take much to break an arm (2 fronts 1 back) mostly my falt. the only frustrating thing is the busing that goes into the flywheel it stripped after the 7th tank of gas and it looks like it is going out again. my revo is a tank but it did go into reverse while i was going forward at WOT. it was kind of cool got 8 feet of air then hit the concrete. i had to rebuild the trans after that one.
but part of the fun is hitting things and wrenching on them!!

I hate those days when racing -- Especially when I'm in a bad mood. When one thing goes wrong, I feel like just packing up and leaving. I just kept dumping more money into my Revo. I just get burned out again, and it's been sitting in my room for months. Hasn't been the first time either.

B4- numerious A arms, the last A arm I broke I don't even know how I broke it... I went of the over and under jump and landed almost perfect and something didn't feel right so I quick flicked it around and I noticed I had a broken A arm.. Also, have broken a couple steering blocks and one front shock tower(it was a freek accident). I don't think it's that bad though considering that's for a years time and that for prolly the first 6-7 months I was horrible and then something clicked and I was a great driver.. it's weird.
T3- Nothing really ever broke except I bent a few hing pins. I had plenty of electronic problems but what do you expect it was an RTR
It always seems like something goes wrong when I'm racing. I could be doing perfect all day during practice and then the races start and I break an A arm or a ball end pops off or my batts dump for some reason.

I cracked 2 gearboxes (>_< Damn triple jump, couldn't quite land it, kept smacking down right in the center of the third), and bent a CVD pretty badly on a pathetic landing off a single.
